Its more expensive and not better for games.

Plus, its the first Quad-Core series. Wouldnt u want to buy the LAST Dual-Core instead of the first Quad-Core?

It's better for multi-tasking. They even said that it wouldn't show improvement in games...yet, but that'll change soon. Some people don't always have games in mind. If it overclocks like hell I would get it for Christmas.

I doubt Vista or any program would use 4 cores for anything.

By the time that there is a significant difference in games while playing with 4 cores than 2 (if that will ever happen), the Quad-Cores will not cost more then the the Dual-Cores.

But hey, if they release a 300-400$ Quad-Core by spring ill buy it instead of the E6600 i was going to buy.

I'm sure in the near future they'll use the Quad-Cores potential. If you multi-task a lot, this Quad-Core will do better than a Core 2 Duo.

someone says this EVERY time multi-core CPUs are talked about. It doesnt actually matter if programmes are written to utilise multiple threads or cores, your average PC will be running about 30+ processes at any one time, so the very fact that multiple cores are present means multitasking performance will be improved anyway.

Yes, but you have 1/4^2 chance of good overclocking :twitch: Hope I got my math straight, LOL
