I want to go to South Korea...yeah it's right under N. Korea, but it's not likely that they're going to get bombed since they're not "in it". South Korea and North Korea should re-unite by doing Taekwondo or something, since that's their Official Sport and all. I remember smething when China solved something by Ping Pong.

thier playing the tuff guy role. South Korea is trying to bring north and south together but its not working, I guess the road they built connecting the 2 is not being used much at all (I read about this on msn, check almost all news on msn about North Korea).

The people in North Korea only know of Kim Jon II and his dad, their isolated and being driven further into isolation... The whole friggin world helps them ffs, with out the aid they are screwed.

A major problem is that the share infomation with Iran, and both Iran and North korea want the US off the face of the earth. They are planning more tests, thankfully China is real mad about this and it is damaging thier relations.

South Korea really isn't involved in this...if you go there, you can take pictures with the border guards there, and no one will really care at all. IMO, South Korea is a pretty safe place right now.

would only work if there was one located in Hawaii that could hit the missile before the warhead entered free fall which could happen more than 100 miles off the west coast of usa after that nothing short of a close range radar guided will stop it even that i doubt since the warhead has such a small radar signature and no propulsion system for anything to target.

The only way our [very unsucessful] missle defense system would work is if the missle was still in its booster stage, after that it can't be tracked unless it was already locked on and even then, the missle defense system probably won't work. Read up on it, it's very unsucessful.

Maybe you should consider why North Korea is developing these weapons: The United States is still technically in a state of war with them and has 30-40 thousand troops stationed on its border.

The only military solution is to stand down. No matter who fires the first shot, Seoul would be completely destroyed by N Korean artillery and missiles, and Japan would probably be hit by medium range missiles. The US needs to open direct talks and get Kim Jong out of there, the people of N Korea have been suffering for far too long. Re-unite them through diplomacy and develop a unified Korean democracy, which is exactly what China doesnt want.

Dont you realise that N.Korea is just like another oldern russia? They are like trying to fight in arms race without giving a damn about its people. N.Korean IS IN FACT POOR. The government is massively investing on weapons rather then helping its people.

And how is the financial status of the USA? Where do all the dollars go? Both sides aren't that great.

As for Singapore, wasn't that a 3rd world country a few decades ago which invested heavily in infrastructure and became one of the richest countries in its area? That's an example of how it should be.
In case I'm confused with another country, same thing though replace Singapore with that country :P

No one in their right minds is going to nuke anyone, it's the threat that keeps everyone from doing it. The second one nuke goes off... kiss our lives goodbye, no one wants to be the one to hit the button first but once the button is hit it's all out warfare. Some of you might not remeber this, but search "nuclear Winter" we preaty much will bomb ourselves back to the iceage and extinction.

The U.S. (for example) has 18 (known) trident nuclear subs, which at any point in time there are 9 or more out at sea. These submarines are equiped with D-5 missles, and account for over 60% of the U.S.'s nuclear arsenal. They are untraceable weapons (the subs are) that can hear and detect anything up to 5000 miles away, can deploy for over 3 months underwater at a time.

Basicly, even if a nuclear war does start, the U.S. will get the last laugh, as we all grow extra appendages and suffer slowly to our death... for those that make it thru.... get some subzero gear you will need it.

I guess they need to improve their language understanding skills. Really agility, that was a compliment towards your country that was easy to see. Why are you so insecure to lash out so quickly?

As for North Korea, the only people that have anything to worry about are the South Koreans since that is about the limit of their range to successfully launch any type of attack. Besides, China has the most to lose if the North goes nuts, they will almost certainly reign in this moron before he hurts himself too much.

I don’t think the fear is just that they have nukes, but rather that they can sell them to other countries. Those countries in turn can give these untracked weapons to organizations that won’t be afraid to use them. Terrorism will then have a new face when a community or organization can be vaporized at a whim.

It will cause a large chain reaction within the societys, and it will be just like the end of teh world flash video.

Radiation fallout is why noone will ever use them.

Remember chernobyle? Not exactly a good thing.

i don't think he's putting down singapore at all. i think he's saying it's very positive example of strong growth in that region, and growth of any kind is very commendable for an entire country :)

Very few countries have the technology needed to produce a nuclear warhead small enough to fit on an ICBM, I doubt NK has this technology. In fact, it seems their first nuclear test was a fizzle, this happens when the explosives used to create a critical mass aren't precise enough to avoid destroying the fission material before most of it reaches critical mass status (I say most of it, because no fission bomb is 100% efficient). This means the test was a partial failure. If they haven't succeded yet in detonating a nuclear bomb under controlled conditions, what guaranty exists that they can put a bomb on the head of a fully functional ICBM?

But the fact remains that perhaps both North Korea and Iran have weapons of mass destruction, while a lot of american kids are getting killed in Iraq because they were sent to eliminate a threat that never existed in that country.

Now there's a very real threat coming from countries which have expressed many times their desire to directly attack America and its allies, but effective action cannot be taken while the U.S. military forces are stationed in Iraq :shadedshu
