Specs:
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe. Intel E6600@3500. X1900XT@XTX. 1x150Raptor system/save. 2x74Raptor Raid0. X-Fi Fatal1ty audio. 24"+19" monitor dual.

The case took about 2 months to finish. Goal was to make it as small as possible, have room for ATX MB, 4xHD and so on. Important was to get good airflow without much noise. The PSU placement posed a problem, but solved it by "inventing" an easy removal system :). You know, I think wood would give better cooling than metal. More breathing. I would have chose something better than particle board, but I like the design. I was thinking of getting my dad to make one and that is basicly what I had in mind.

Wood is a good material to work with. The material i chose isn´t. Get your dad to make one? Shouldn´t you try for yourself instead? Even if the result doesn´t get perfekt there is some satisfaction to create with your hands and mind :).

i would worrry about heat getting trapped in there, what with what looks like noise dampening and wood (!one helluvan insulator!) and would've put another fan on the front(maybe one 80mm in front of each HDD cage set for 2 new fans, on low rpm's for low noise o course!), but it is one sweet looking case!

you mention the smallest space and still have room for full atx mobo, and i love the cubish outcome therefore! cheers!

You don't understand, my wood working skills are pathetic at best. I can change a transmission, or an engine in a car, but I tried makeing a subwoofer box once, it wasn't pretty or functional. My dad has definatly got the wood working skills.

Have no problems with heat! Have 2x120 mm in front bottom with filters that throw in air. All components are really cool.

I Have oiled it with Danish oil. The material i have used gets best result with that oil. (have tested alot of different oils and lacquer.

About heat. The case inside is VERY cool. Have 2x120mm throwing in air in the bottom (see pics.) and 1x140 + powersupply 120mm throwing out the warm air from rear. The in-air passes HDs (3xraptor) flows over the motherboard nicely and goes directly out from rear! So the this case has better airflow than most of my previous cases including (4 home built, a couple of antecs, acrylic, small formfactor some chieftechs etc. My previous case was a P160 with watercooling and one extra 120mm that i modded in that was good but this has lower temps.

I use it because it is light and its a good material to glue the curlybirch pieces on. Its more stable to tempchanges than massive wood.

I voted 4/10 because:

I can see you put a lot of effort (and time) into the box.

But sorry, I think the net effect is dreadful. Just looks like an old junk box.

Your expensive veneering didn't pull off, neither did your attenmpt to "hide" the edges by using the metal and wood trims.

I would knock it down... consider it practice... and design a more aesthetic piece. I see you've got some serious woodworking tools in the background! You can do it!

looking at your wood crafting skills on the case i give you 10/10 nicely made.
have you tryed makeing one from metal looking at your work i think you could make a Hot case from
Metal ;)

i live in the u.k and some people over here mod cars 2 the max i.e alloy wheels sound systems and stuff one of the things they do is mod the interior in there cars
With sheets of carbon-fibre that can be picked up at the cars shops
One thinks your box would look sweet in carbon-fibre finish.

I personally would have gone with a different veneer, or a darker stain, but it looks awesome!
