I know quite a few of you guys are from the UK, where this sci-fi series began its life (longest running Sci-Fi series ever iirc), so some of you probably watch it.

I like it thusfar... how about you?

I didn't think they'd broadcast this in usa.
Always been a fan of the series from the Sylvester McCoy days, when i started watching.
What series are they showing over there, who plays the Dr?
I thought it was ok, a little different from what we've seen before. I wish i could say alot more on the subject but i've forgotten, the first series finished ages ago and the seconds been and gone.
There is however a new spin off series called Torchwood, just started, missed the first one tho. Follows the footsteps of Captain Jack Harness, he featured in the first series in the episodes based in london during the blitz i think.

Great series, it's spinoff Torchwood started as well, looks nice as well.

The great thing is that the series doesn't take itself too seriously, that makes it quite funny.

However, series 2 ended already, waiting for the 3rd series now :(

I'd like to spend 5 minutes in a phone booth with the Blonde from that show... check her dial tone ... hehe: ;)

Well, as I said in another thread, which I wanted deleted but couldn't (hint hint mods, thanks if you can do that, burn it/ NUKE IT FROM ORBIT!!!)

I just watched "The Unquiet Dead" episode, my first one ever in fact!

(& the very beginning @ the point w/ the old dead woman possessed by "the gas beings" is screaming & it fades from her screaming right into the "Classic" Dr. Who theme & the 'tardis' vectoring thru the timestream & then switching from the 'blue pill' reality into the 'red pill' one?)

Yea... I knew RIGHT then, I was hooked, or hooked again on Dr. Who!

:)

* Anyone else check it out, & like it as well? Ah, see you guys have!

It's motivating me to get some person skilled w/ tools for chopping a portion of an .avi file out to make one out of the portion that is the introduction of this series...

Just to get me that datafile, so I can perform an experiment I never got to finish a couple years ago w/ the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE (first one) film intro (where agents shown while the fuse burns & the classic theme of it were playing)...

That would be taking said .avi file & embedding it into a .scr's resources section & @ runtime?

Run the .AVI portion (this new Dr. Who series' intro I describe above) from w/ in itself...

P.S.=> Personally, I'm pretty impressed actually! BBC has really "stepped up" their special FX (by way of comparison to the old Tom Baker episodes of this series, the longest running sci-fi there is afaik as a series, that I used to watch as a boy)... apk

"WoW ˛!!!", is about ALL I can say @ this point about this series now!

(I watched nearly ALL of the Christopher Eccleston episodes (as the Doctor prior to regeneration circa 2005) & nearly ALL of the David Tennant episodes (as the Doctor, AFTER regeneration circa 2006 & possibly even BETTER than Christopher Eccleston while assuming the role of "The Doctor") @ this point & made my judgement on it after that)...

:)

Amazing stuff:

* Some of the BEST Sci-Fi I have ever seen on the "toob" imo, & my hat's off to the BBC on this series latest iteration(s) circa 2005 to present day 2006!

My fav episode thusfar is "DoomsDay"... great stuff! Especially the "Cybermen" vs. "Daleks" shootout near the end:

Daleks: "Ex-Ter-Min-Ate!" CyberMen: "Delete!"

& the quote of the Supreme Dalek (black one) saying to the CyberMen: "This is not war: THIS IS PEST CONTROL! You are superior @ one thing: You are better @ DYING!"

(LOL - 'Dalek humor')

P.S.=> What helps it immensely is not only the superior special effects work possible nowadays (which beats the HECK out of the 1960's-1990's stuff in the older versions of this series), but also the relationship between the character "Rose Tyler" & "The Doctor"... apk
