:) Both my ASUS motherboad systems have failed.
I want to buy some type of motherboard testing hardware.
Should I buy a Motherboard Diagnostic Post Code Card.
What is the best motherboard testing hardware?
What is the best way to test the motherboard,
CPU, memory and power supply?

ok, first of all, you learned your lesson, avoid asus :) ,

2nd issue is that maybe its not the motherboard thats failing or theres something causing them to faill, first thing off the books i would check is the PSU, a cheap PSU is basicly an accident waiting to happen, if you plan on testing and suspect that the issue causing the problem is still out there, you should go for the cheapest decent board you can get, like asrock,

now the psu can be checked with a voltage/amp meter, all you need is to short the gray/black and the green, its the 3rd on one row with the 4th from the other side on 2nd row, you can find a diagram of the connector online, just short the power and ground to start up the psu (make sure you use a wire had has some isolation on it, you dont want to get curley hair while doing it, and remember to wear rubber sole shoes)

once the PSU is runnign, start mesuring voltages with the voltage meter, if you see that voltage vary or are significantly off (more then 0,3v) toss the PSU in the garbage, not worth using,

I've never had a prob with asus. Both my P5WD2 Premium and my new P5W DH Deluxe motherboards kick ass! Although i am dissapointed with the way they use what i call 'fools copper' - copper plated alluminium heatsinks (on the P5W DH deluxe).

Their graphics cards are nothing special, just like everyone else.

DOA and bad motherboard come from all manufacturers, its just with some it happens more often.

If you've built computers before- You just happen to be having really bad luck or a hardware incompatibility.

If you haven't-
Read my article, (http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/other/144) I'm suspecting you might have shorted both motherboards unintentionally. If you shorted it out, RMA the CPU and motherboard for a new one, and you should be fine :).

ASUS is a tier 1 manufacturer. They make good motherboards. All manufacturers will have some rate of failure. ASUS is no where near the bottom of the list. :twitch: ASUS is always my first choice for full ATX boards, and Biostar is always my first choice for MATX boards.

Asus products are good, however their service is a big joke. When the board dies you'll have to go to Asus support hell, which is worse than the christian hell.
I've been there, I barely got out of it alive. And I have another Asus board running in my server, I hope it doesn't ever die.

asus rule

and technicks, i have that board mateys its brill (with 2 x1600xt's in crossfire and they work seamlessly) and it over clocks well to if you are gonna push your CPU

I have a Asus P5b deluxe and I had nothing but problems with it until I figured out it was ram picky I got some corsair xm2 6400 and all problems disappeared. So you mite want to check your ram.
