As you are all aware, NVIDIA had to recall all Geforce 8800 GTX cards before today's launch to fix a resistor issue. This will slightly delay the availability of the cards. The GeForce 8800 GTS is unaffected and will be on sale today.
According to this internal problem report from EVGA, it seems that they identified the "resistor" issue by using ATITool Scan for Artifacts and then wondered about the errors.

W1z ownt them LOL. That goes to show you that G80 have a heat issue. I already read one post that says the G80 hovers around 80C full load with HSF. I knew that card couldn't work under those conditions for long and ATI TOOL PROVE IT!!!

i didnt mean to own them at all .. actually when someone posted here about the scan for artifact errors i thought it may have to do with some nvidia image quality tricks ..
according to the test report the resistor problem is that the resistor size allows the over current protection to be triggered during normal use, which is not a heat issue

I see so they had to change that resistor. Thanks for the clarification.
they even prefere to use a beta stage overclock tool made for aticards than others :D

It appears to me that in the rush to get the trick of the week video card or mobo out the door, companies are skipping on quality control and good engineering. The past few years have seen countless defective mobos shipped and quite a few problem vid cards and other hardware that should never have been shipped DOA.

nah thats lame .. desktop ads are the most annoying thing ever .. and chasing advertisers that may be willing to spend more than 10$ a month is just a waste of time
