My current antivirus program finds a file containing 3 viruses but can't remove it:cry: . It's the third antivirus I have installed trying to remove this file. I tried to do it manually too but with no results. What can I do? Can I remove it with any other way? Please help me!!!:respect:

actually, you want to disable system restore, take out your hdd, and run multiple virus scans using different programs on anther machine.

That's quite difficult for me since I haven't got a backup machine. Isn't there anything easier
I could do?

Don't mind the following if it is stupid:
Can't I delete the file from command line?

you could could try an OS running from disc (e.g. knoppix / BartPE) and delete the file from there...

1) The virus is in a protected system file.
2) The system restore files are protected and remain resident untill you disable the system restore.
3) They are deleted during a reboot.
4) You may then re-enable system restore.
5) POW!!!

the effective way is to do virus removal on a remote machine, but you basicly need to do is run some os shows up as a removable device without runing the one with the viruses...

also for bart and knoppix, google them...

never heard of BartPE? all you need is a windows xp disc and bartīs handy PEBuilder available here:

http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

use this to create a bootable disc that runs a winxp GUI with full access to all drives, networking support and some additional test/rescue stuff... adding your own tools is also possible.

you name it...
