OK, I've been trying to help out here on TPU for a few months now. Consider myself pretty knowledgeable on hardware related stuff.
Anyway, I'm a bit annoyed. Got this private message from a moderator:
I have to ask a question:
Why are you reading this post:
<link removed to protect the moderator>
I mean wth? I'm not allowed to read certain posts?? BS if you ask me.

I wrote someone a post like that once, asking them what attracted them to a certain posting's material, because I was curious... but, I'm no moderator, & I couldn't control what anybody looks @ anyhow!

is that all he asked?? did you message him back?? if nothing else was said after his initial question then i wouldnt take it personal...he may have just wanted to know what brought you to that post.....but if he was "giving you a hard time" then ya i would say somethen....TPU hasnt any rule against looking at threads or posts.....if they dont want anyone to look they just close the thread....this website is a business for TPU. we help to keep them in business by the forums and their main tech page........of course at the same time we need them too....but they shouldnt give you a hard time for looking at threads......
what thread was it btw??? i'd be curious about the subject of the thread....:rockout:

It was I who sent him the message!
I just checked my PM sends... because as I mentioned above, I knew I had sent some folks messages like that here before... more or less out of curiousity. We're all entitled to THAT!
I was only curious what it was about the thread that attracted him to it, via its subject line &/or interior material. I can do that, why not? It was an innocent question...
I think this guy took it wrong, or has a problem (or maybe just the day he wrote this post). I mean, what else could it be?
* Because, first of all - I'm not even a moderator/administrator here!

If I gave out the thread it would reaval the mod.
Kinda forgot you can see who is on near the bottom and click their name and send them a msg.
Don't think anyone was giving me a hard time anymore, but just by the intial language of the message (copy/pasted above) I kinda thought different.
I'm probably just paranoid from the occassional mod abuse thread...

Yea, neither am I ... I was the person who wrote him a "QUESTION" (literally, that was the subject line), & asked him a question, on why he was checking out a particular thread...
(What was interesting to he in it, & why he was checking it out, etc.)
That's all... strange!

P.S.=> I'm no moderator either, & I don't know HOW he could think that, because I am not one, NOR would I want to be ever & have stated that here repeatedly... apk

Yes you can and thats what we all thought it was, innocent...and yes i think he looked at it wrong....IMs can do that for some people...make them think the person who asked or wrote it had somethen wrong with them....i get that alot...seems like at other forums i spend as much time explaining what i ment then actually writing new posts....
I dont think anyone was really upset....just curious....
i think alec is just a trouble maker.......j/k :rockout:

Just to clear it up with Alec, take it from my point:
I get a private msg with an all caps title
The message is really short and to the point.
The link brings me to the begining of a mini war within the thread
Its difficult to analyze the intended tone for a message like that.
and remember:
Didn't realize you were not an admin
I honestly didn't know what to think...
Had it been 'locked' for viewing and I was seeing something I shouldn't?
Was I being warned not to post?
I have no hard feelings and hope this thread disappears :p

Well, you can edit it, & when editing? Near the top, you have the option to delete it... no biggie, if you want it gone? You can have it gone...
