hi there i was wondering which card is better? what are the performance values for both. is the differnece between them significance or slight? if they were both overclocked to their maximum value which will be better? please help. thank you very much.

I think the X1600pro might just about edge it in terms of performance, not a huge difference I don't think but some new games may favour and newer technology the X1600 has. You could also consider the X1650 which costs a little more but does perform better. I'm not sure about the OC potential, often depends on luck.

Edit: how much memory would the 6800 have? If it doesn't have 256 the X1600pro should definately be better.

I m using 6800.....it's 256mb......most games I can play in high detail......juz that oblivion and battlefield 2142.....i got to set texture and lighting to medium.....that x1650 or x1600 isn't good enough.....it's not as good as 6800.....mostly it only can play with medium detail....even low...

Being an ATI guy i hope my opinion helps you....i would go with the 6800....under dx7 and most other games it flys, but under dx9 and with newer games its a little slow...however the x16xx line is slower then the 6800 in dx7 and in dx9 you really cant tell any diff. between the two cards.....tho the x16xx does have the newer shaders then the 6800...

good luck...:rockout:

I am playing BF 2142 at High Detail dude.... (1280*960)
I just OC my X1600 Pro and it went without lag.

In terms of price, the Sapphire X1300XT OC version (DDR3) is almost as good as a X1650 Pro.
(Btw, 1300XT is basically a remarked X1600 Pro)
