Hey guys i think i want to mess around with my memory timmings for my unlocked x800pro vivo. I want to relax them a bit as i think perhaps my memory chips are too stressed and perhaps causeing me some artifacting. Can someone tell me what specifically i can change in there to make the card a touch more stable. I am not sure if i should put the values up or down a notch. I googles this info earlier and i only found where someone said to change the on refresh rate of the memory from 32 to 64 or something. I also found this;

I use these on mine:

TRCDRD: 7
TRCDWR: 3
TRP: 5
TRAS: 13
TRRD: 3
TWR: 6
TR2W: CL+2
TW2R: 3
TR2R: USE TWR RULE
TR2R: 2
WR_LATENCY: 1.5
CAS_LATENCY: 7
CMD_LATENCY: 0
STR_LATENCY: WR LATENCY
REFRESH_RATE: 0x75
TRFC: 23

I run my memory tighter than XTs since its max frequency is in the 500s.

Do you think i should do the above? x800 pro vivo 1.6 memory. thanks..
just trying to get rid of the artifacting im getting. putting ram sinks on tonight also. :cry:

try TRRD=4
TRW2=4
see if that cleans up the artifacts

Thanks you! I will try that tonight!

Hey added ram sinks and changed my memory timings, I am going to test it right now. I hope changing timings and ram sinks get rid of the artifacts. Unfortunately because of the stock cooler covering most of the top side of the cards memory chips i could only put ram sink on the 4 mem chips on the bottom of the car. ahh well.

Also is it bad to run ATT and ATI Tool at the same time. I overclock with tray tools but use ati tool to change my memory timings. So is it bad to use both as long as the profiles dont conflict or should i drop one and use only the other?

thanks!

report back later. lol

IMO opinion it would be better just to use ATITool in case there are conflicts and it would be easier to manage with one OC and memory timings profile. Plus I think tray tools are way too overated.

Yeah i reflashed the card to x80pro16 pipes uninstalled omega drivers and reinstalled the officials. Now i use officials with ATI tool. No more tray tools. The artifacts are way less noticeable now. But still there just a little. Iam not going to overclock the memory im just going to leave it be and enjoy it.

thanks for the help everyone.:nutkick:

jb3nny try changing only the TRP from 5 to 6 or 7 with ATT first and after that with RaBit if you see considerable change in card's behaviour. It could change the overclocking potential (up to 30MHz more for the memory) and without artifacts ;) .
