jus looking through the cpu database on this sight and noticed that it says that my cpu's volts are suppsoed to be 1.425...but my abit is-10 runs at standard of 1.325......can't beleive i didn't notice before,,,,,my old school mobo does have a cpu voltage jumper to raise it .10 volts, I did this, but now...when i run the little x-wing on atitray tools while running abit eq(abits old mobo monitoring prog...) the prog. blips quite a bit. (it beeps when there is an error, like unstable volts or temps that are too high........does anybody know why this might be???please??............because it does seem to run faster while the voltages are raised....tray tools benching went up by about 200 points..(not too much...but good for a poor gamer like myself)....

btw i thought that the pwm's were getting too hot, because they ran at 80 celsius befoe i raised the volts, but i turned of that aspect of the monitor prog. and it was still beeping

....basically what i wanted too know is if my cpu hasn't benn operationg to full potential this whole time...and now that it's on the right volts and not working properly...does that meen that my mobo's not fully compatible??

with jumper pin in place to raise volts...it goes to 1.47...it's only supposed to run at 1.425...is that bad..good?...should i put the jumper back.....if so i really don't want to...my fps and browsing seems to be faster with it on...still though the pwm get's up to 115 celsius

Increased voltage doesnt make a CPU perform any faster... at the same clockspeed.

Are you unhappy with your original Prescott speed? What was it? How much did you overclock it successfully?

If you aren't overclocking... take the v back down to what it was. If it aint broke, dont fuuk with it

sounds right to me...but if the volatge is lower than it is supposed to be...does it lower the speed or stability...? stock setting for the mobo with my new psu is 1.38...supposed to run at 1.425..?...i'm ignorant to all of this..trying to learn

:) have you tried runnig CPUZ to see what it reports the voltage to be

no i have not.....i believe i will try to run other voltage meter progs.....abit eq jus doesn't seem to be high quality ......

FYI: run this same processor on two rigs right now [p4 3.0/800]
ASUS=p4p800-se...runs at 1.41 @ stock even with volts set at 1.37 in bios [on lower set in bios}
ASUS=p4p800-e dlx...runs at 1.32@ stock set 1.32 in bios
see if you mb has a bios update might help
