I say no, because you can find a X1950 pro for that price.

Hey it is nice to see a card come down in price, but I agree with DaMulta.
You can find an X1950PRO for $199-250 and a 7900GT (which beats this card) for $199.

Its not a good deal at all.
You can find x1950pro for 170$!
I got mine x1900gt rev1 brand new for 165$ more than month ago.

But the 1900Gt is faster than the 1950Pro???? well according to the 1950Pro thread that is running it appears to be looking at 3D Mark scores. personally I would shop around and pay a few $ more and either get the 256MB 1900XT of the 7900GTO although am not sure on the prices in the states at the moment but the 7900GTO in the UK is really cheap if you know where to look.

X1950Pro is just barely better then the X1900GT. 80nm process compared to 90nm, higher memory bandwidth, and cleaner PCB are really the only noticeable differences. Of course, those changes generally lower heat output and increase performance...:).

But the benches I have seen do suggest that the GT is marginally faster, not sure tho if there is much price difference?

Meh, I wouldn't know, I just took a quick peek at GPUreview. I'd love to see those benchmarks if you could fine them. The X1950Pro looks like quite a bargain so far, if you ask me.

But if you look at the thread link I posted just you will see at stock the pro does beat the Gt but you dont get the voltage options with the pro so the GT overclocks better (has voltage options) so end result is faster card, only going by what owners are saying in that htread tho......so please dont shoot the messenger!!!! :twitch:

i didn't name anyone, i don't know why you thought i was shooting at anyone, much less you!
sorry if it seemed like it tho

bout a week ago they had the x1950pros from asus w/ that dank cooler for 170$, but people bought it up

ati is really having trouble keeping inventory with a lot of the products, which is too bad, cuz that card is killer

as far as oc capabilities go, if you want to push the limits, volt mods are always possible no matter what (until they encase the pcb), and the newer manufacturing process will be better for that (nod to x1950pro)

while that's just in theory, the internal cf connector makes it a winner in my book over every other card ati produces (except the used x1950xtx that people are ditching for 350$ to fund their new g80's). of course, i have yet to see reviews for the x1950xt 256

also, i think x1900gt have been cheaper in the past, so they will be down there again

I would like to say, I went from XFX 7600GT xXx 590/1.5 (Overclocked was 770/1.75) and I hit 4200 3dmarks in 06 and now with my x1900 stock I get that.

It's a rev.2 without software voltage changing or BIOS mods and the Voltage Reg's or something are placed in a Z shape and you cannot find something to cool them unless you do it yourself.

I used a Compaq laptop Heatsink for mine.
