scarface licence key expired?

Hi everyone
my m8 bought scarface the other day,brand new all legite,he installs the game he's on dx9c which the game is and he clicks his desktop icon and it says licence key expired please contact software vendor....blah blah.He has no internet connection for any available update to fix this so i said i'd try and dl it and put it on disc if that was whats needed.Anybody got any info on this.

if he has no internet connection then he prob. bought this game from a local store?

if so just exchange it....even if its open you can exchange it for the same game...or at least you should be able to...i would never expect to jump threw hoops to get a game working..if the key is expired, then just exchange the game and be done with it...

maybe he needs to re-enter the cdkey again...i have had many games that i have had to retype the cdkey again..

I would say return it.
But it is possible that that CD Key is in use.
Maybe someone is using it illegally.

Thats just it though it's 1 of those games where u put the codekey in when u start the game 1st time i was round there 1/2 hour ago and i tried installin for him and it never asked for codekey during install.

in the games menu should be a place for him to re enter the cdkey..try that ....

if you google around, you'll find that esp. in case of EU version, you just need to download a hotfix for that. So, basically, it's just sthg wrong with thier installation pack. Here's the link to that page where i got one for me:
