Hi guys.
Today i moved all my hardware to another case so i can work on the cube.
I moved it very carefully. The strange thing is when i wan't to turn on the pc, it takes about 5 minutes before windows starts. Never had it before. When Windows starts up there are no problems. Just normal. Anyone got ideas?

Have you already looked up all settings in the BIOS?
Maybe some entires are no more the same after the power-off time.

Could be lots of variouse things. Loose connectors, bad ground, maybe you inadvertantly plugged the HDD serial cable into a different connector(2nd vs 1st inline). ETC.
Try resetting the cmos, and then run defrag, to check for bad sectors on HDD, its kinda easy to skip the read head off the disk in a move.

I tried loading the bios default setup. Removed the battery. After that i did had to change the date and time.(cmos checksum bad or something). No change
Then i set it up like it was before i moved the pc and no change. Set the hd to first boot device like always. Checked al the cables.
Like i say, After the 5 min wait the pc does not act different then before.

Did you try leaving the battery out for more than 10 minutes (pc unplugged of course)! Did windows regenerate any of the programs you deleted, like Macaffee, AOL, ETC; and is running them. Check the task manager for applications to see if anything new is going on. Also did you change the I-net connection in any way, like a different router plug-in (connection). Check the ram make sure its properly seated and run a mem test, might find something there also.

Yep, bad sectors might be a reason.
Optionally chkdsk c: /r

I checked the hd , ram ,videocard and connectors.
Nothing above seemed to be a problem.
Could it be motherboard related? If so i will rma the board.

Come on guys can anyone give me some info?
I moved my hardware from case to case, Now it takes a few minutes before windows starts up. I connected a hd,ram and a different videocard to my board but nothing made a difference.
What could it be? Once running the system does perform normal. I ran 3dmark05 and 06 without problems. Also prime95 runs for a few hours without any errors.
Thanks

This is a great little tool for seeing what is installed during the startup proceedure, what order it is installed, and it shows exactly how long it takes the program/disk/liberary to load.
