Got a new 20 inch widescreen 5 MS viewsonic monitor and everytime i quit out of a game it gets artifacts then i turn the monitor of then back on and its fine. i did a print screen when it was doing this and i pasted it in paint and there were no artifacts in the screenshot. so it IS the monitor.

Any ideas. if not ill just take it back and get a new one

lol, i got a 22in acer lcd with a 5ms response....sadly it has one dead pixel...oh well i shall exchange it tomorrow.

for your problem, does the game has a different resolution than the windows desktop? it is possible that the monitor is failing to change resolution.

Yeah the game is Live for speed. it was 1200 - 1050.

Could be the resolution, specially being a widescreen lcd

good luck getting an exchange for one dead pixel. Its usually 8 or more before they RMA.

I think they charge a 15% restocking fee for "non-defective" items, but it might be a store-to-store thing or for components - I asked them once before a "test-drive" of a power supply and buying a hard drive I needed asap.

You could always find nasty ways of "making" it defective (really evil grin  ).

For the original topic - yea, what everyone else said. And definitely check the cables!
