x800xt flashing to x850xt-pe ? [Archive]

Hello,

is there an advantage to flash a x800xt with a x850xt-pe bios? There ist another chip and a other ram but would bring it advantage or would it result in crashing the card?
If the last point is right is the x800xt-pe - Bios the best Solution?

nope you might aswell just clock it and not bother with and x850 different core and arcutexture

Yes it is possible but only if your card is PCI-E and with custom BIOS (I have done such BIOS). The benefit is higher performance (equal clocks) and the "X850XT type" Overdrive.

still might aswell match the clock speeds say 540/590 and you will gain the same performance and much safer than flashing

With AGP it does not work?

By the way... is there a chance to flash a card which blocks the booting process with endless peeping? Because a flashdisk cant load this way. But is there a way?

If you flash PCI-E BIOS on AGP card or vice-versa it is possible but only if you unsolder the EEPROM and flash it (re-programm it on external programmer).

Didnt mean a PCI-E-Rom. There are AGP-Cards available with x850xt-pe-Rom...
So would it bring a advantage in doing such a rom on a 800xt?

OK let make the things clear. Do you have problem with wrong flash? Do you want to flash X800 to X850 (only if it is PCI-E)? Or what??????

No. I have a AGP-Card x800xt. And the question is if there is a advantage in flashing the Bios of a x850xt-pe AGP onto this card. Would it bring more power or would it break the card?
I didnt mean a pci-e on one side or another. All AGP.

You can't flash X850XT BIOS on X800XT AGP (or you can but it won't change the device ID) and the card will remain X800. Only X800XT PE is the reasonable option for you.
