I just got the card installed and it seems to run okay up to about 700mhz core, can't boost the memory speed almost anything at all. But it starts to get up around 80-85c, what is a safe operating temperature of these cards?
Any basic area?

Heh, ya thats what I was wondering about. I'm getting no artifacts at all... But I don't want to burn it out. I'm shooting to get a zalman for my proc. Soon here fairly anyways I'll be up to a conroe and a new card again anyways.

That would help maybe a little, might wanna put one on the card to..or but a PCI one for under or about the card. But until then, leave the settings how they are, and just take the side off ur case while you are gaming. That might make it a few degree's less. :)

EDIT: Ok wait, just therally thought through that it is an XT! lol. Ima dumnass sometimes.. But yea, XT's are already factory overclocked, so they will run hotter than a regular X1300.

Actually side off raises it a bit. I have really good air flow front to back with 3 120mm fans.

It run at about 55-60 at idle, at 600mhz, its factory setting is 500mhz core.

This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118001) should help your graphic card around 10*c or so, at least. read some of the reviews, some people went from like 78*c to like 48* at load, which is really good. I would recommend this, and it could always go for a newer card if you upgrade..possibly..

the x1300xt isnt factory overclocked its a x1600pro renamed, although it could be factory oc'd

i cant believe you got 700 on the core :twitch: i would be very careful you dont burn that thing out, max stable oc on the x1300xt is around 600/445 although this will differ but imo 700 is way too high even if theres no artifacting yet thats just asking for trouble.

also use ati tool to run the fan at 100% when gaming/benching it will bring it down to about 70c load from my exp.

Ya I took it back down to 550/405, runs nice smooth clean and fairly cool now. I'll still probably go in and turn the fan up, my case is dead silent as it is, I can afford the little noise.

The X1300XT / X1600Pro shouldn't exceed 70C under load....
over 80C is simply too hot for the card man....
80C is hotter than my X1950Pro ever gets....

Those work well. The load temperature for my X800 was 70º, now it's 45º.

Sapphire techs say that X1xx cores can handle a max of 120c so you're well within limits, to be safe I wouldn't want to go above 90c

Never changed out my video card fans/heatsinks, but maybe I'll just have to do that if I can't get my 1950 soon enough. Thanks.
