im using the arctic freezer64 pro dunno if there similar design (cant be bothered to google it :p ) but before i got that my x2 3800+ was running at 45c idle and around 60c load and now it idles at 30c and 50c
edit: ok googled it in the end :p looks similar to the freezer64 pro but the 64 has 2 extra heatpipes and a 90mm fan ;) but that will still be better than stock imo

I went from stock cooling to an Arctic Freezer 7, I definitely noticed a difference in temperature. Definitely worth the 21 dollars your paying in my opinion :) .

I have that baby for 19 euro's over here. And I have it running at around 1000rpm (else I find it to loud). But it keeps my E66000 @ 3Ghz around 35 - 45 degrees (celcius). So I'm happy.

I was just thinking since I took off the old paste and I was looking at it and the bottom is kinda rough, would lapping it be advisable?
Ive read the how to guide here and pretty much get the idea on how to do it but was wondering if it would be worth the extra time to do.

hmmmmmmm.....i juss may do it because the bottom was rough enough for me to have a bit of resistance dragging my finger nail lightly over the surface
I got the stock heat sink i may do it on that since it will be my first lap job<----kinda doesnt sound right:laugh:
