After recently having got my mate to do a few overclock tweaks on my system, I thought I would have a go myself. having browsed a few forums I came across some information on 'unlocking' my x1900xt to an x1900xtx....wOOOOO!!!! Following instructions posted on another forum, I used 'atiwinflash' to 'flash my bios' to an xtx. However, after I rebooted, the gfx card bascially spewed the screen images onto my monitor on in no discernable manner.
I am now running my PC on my old X800 card as whilst the PC will boot up with my X1900xt, I cannot get a legible display screen. I am utterly sickened
I think my username speaks for itself so please no wideboy comments on my stupidity please.....I need help here guys???

Dude if you had read any further then you would have came across some info that flashing a X1900XT to a XTX is basicly pointless, and only a risk to f#ck your card up. Overclocked the XT runs at the same speeds as a XTX. So no need to flash.
But for you i hope your card is not damaged and you can flash it back to your old bios.:o

Yeah, I flashed first and read instructions later.
Having described the problem to my mate he reckons the situation may be salvageable....but since I never actually bothered making a back up of my old bios, I need a bios file for a 256MB X1900XT........anyone?

I agree the card should be salvageable, i once flashed my x1800gto to an xt, to see if it would work, unfortunatly not and had total screen corruption, had to blindly flash it back and luckily it worked:rockout:
I hope you find the bios and it flashes ok:)
U've learned a valuable lesson the hard way, always read instructions and as soon as you get a vid card back up the bios of it, you never know when you need it;)
Lastly i wouldn't use winflash, if windows crashes while flashing u could be left with a expensive paperweight, i always use flashrom or atiflash, never any probs.
Good luck

Its an HIS X1900xt 256mb - not listed on techpowerup bios collection
or mvktech. i think i have gddr3 mem but cant read off chips because itll invalidate my warranty. Its dual dvi vivo. I am able to flash it blind but all i need is the origional bios or one that would suffice. Bit desperate now. I THINK its 1.4ns and going by chart a aiw or a gto but not sure.:wtf:
