I was finding max fsb ... I have 400mHz RAM with memory clock at 210mHz. I have FSB of 267 mHz with 11 multiplier and cpu clock at 2947mHz. What does this mean?:twitch:

it means your memory is either erroring or your cpu isnt stable and cant take it

Should my memory be able to run higher than 210mHz if it's rated at 400mHz....

and this KACAE 3700+ should go up to 3.1gHz according to the guy I got it from, but I am an amateur OC'er.

Thanks for the info.;)

that doesnt mean just from the coding it is it all depends on what week it is

good example amd 3000 veince week 17's where great clockers :D i had a 21 wasnt that bad

ohh ok I see what you mean about the 3700+, but what about the memory question?

400MHz is DDR, it's actually 200. So 210 (420 DDR) is already a 5% overclock.

should do a memory test and you should try other programs aswell like good old prime 95 and i noticed your on a via chipset not the greatest type of chipset to clock 939's on should of got a nf3 ultra

you shouldnt have to lower your memory its ballistixs you should be able to reach ddr500 with raising the voltage to 2.8-2.9v without messing around with timmings

I have 3700+ at 2.95gHz right now and am able to race GTL so it seems to be stable in my amateur opinion.

So I lowered the ram to 166mHz to start and am at 210mHz now with 2.95gHz cpu. So are you saying I should go ahead and try a higher ram speed?

nf3 ultra is agp memory controller and that is abit better and have you tried it in games ?

but if its detecting errors in cpu programs then try clocking it slightly lower until it stops erroring

It also depends on who makes your memory, the chips used and how they are binned. Generic brand memory doesnt necessarily overclock well. You may need to run it on a divider say 4:3 or 5:4 or what have you to get it up to the 3100mhZ the person you bought it from, had running. It also depends on your chipset, mobo, cooling, etc. How much voltage you give it and the memory, a multitude of things. Im not a professional overclocker, I leave that to Ket, Onion, and the others here, but I can tell you its more than just memory and cpu.

if I set the ram to 400mHz it reaches its limit before the cpu is maxed out is what I noticed yesterday. maybe....Higher ram speed/lower multiplier= better cpu speed ? I really don't know but thanks for the ideas everyone. I'll be here all day trying to get to the bottom of this.;)
