Hey I was just wondering as to why my 7600GT has a memory clock of 700Mhz and a core clock of 560Mhz where as my friend has the exact same card from the same manufacturer (XFX) however his is clocked at 1.4Ghz for the memory and a 580Mhz core clock.. :S

Any idea's?

I'd say contact the manufacturer and ask them to help you out a bit. They usually respond the same day depending on the time zones.

If it's faulty then they will let you return it and they should give you another card.

Im tempted to Oc it.. although it wouldnt really be Ocing if its stock clock is supposed to be 1.4Ghz.. Eh im confused. :)

Or.. would 1.4ghz just be the effective clock?

Yea but you could easily overclock it back to stock... but im sure you just wondering why it was set at those speeds in the first place.. I wouldn't know. But im just sayin, buddy of mine has that card, he easily overclocked his to like 620/1530, and played bf2142 maxed.

your 700mhz mem is prolly 1.4ghz effective as for the core im not too sure about that, i do know xfx have different 7600gt's out tho some at 1600mhz mem and 650mhz core, but your mem looks right.

Just got a reply from xfx, 1.4ghz is the effective :) and for the core speed, apparently theres another variant of the same card, just with a slightly higher core clock. Thanks for all your help.
