what is the best way to remove taped on heatsinks

hey....I need to remove some ramsinks off of my x800's memory.....without breaking it, because i made some larger ones out of spare parts......any ideas

most 'tape' will come off if you wiggle the sink for a while then wiggle & lift one edge abit should pop offf ...helps sometimes if the sinks are warm

I agree with Frogger, you should be able to gently rock it back and forth until it comes off. It's the same method I used to pull my baby teeth. Warmer should be better, so if you crank the system up and then shut it down, it should be plenty warm.

You could use a blow dryer to heat them while you're rocking them back and forth.

Twist it a bit and rock it a bit, not too much of on movement because that could cause damage.
