Removeable MOBO tray? Why? Mid vs Full Tower?

Hi all....

Getting a wealth of information from everyone here! Thanks TPU:toast: !

I am just gathering knowledge for my first (on my own) computer build and have some basic questions....here goes.....

1) Just what are the benefits/drawbacks of a removeable motherboard tray?

2) What are the advantages/disadvantages of mid tower vs full tower for computers? --reason for asking is that I want the computer to be cool and have space for expansion if need be.

a removeable motherboard tray means you can fit the board/cpu/ram/pci-e/pci cards without fumbling about inside the case,and slide the whole lot into the case.it does make it a bit easier.

as for mid/full tower,a full tower will have more 5.25" bays and possibly more hdd bays.thats about it.full tower for lots of drives,mid tower if you dont need so many or dont want/like a full tower case.

in a full tower you can also fit e-atx mobo's ;)

I am looking at 2 HDD's (maybe 3), 2 optical drives, 1 multicard reader, fan controller. I will also need 8 USB ports (preferably on the back) for game related gear (throttle, pedals, TrackIR, Joystick, other joystick device, mouse, keyboard....).

I will put in a soundcard and video card....MAYBE 2 Vid cards in the future but not for a while.

I also want to be able to overclock so a big CPU fan will be a necessity and in the future I may go with Liquid cooling.

Does a removeable board make it less sturdy????

e-atx is extended atx, amd skt f motherboards use that format ;)

Yeah...the drives will be for some type of raid setup perhaps with perhaps a smaller drive used for the OS...still researching the benefits of this.

The gaming gear I use for Aces High II and need my controls....especially the TrackIR...I would be lost without that!

i use 2x80gb sataII's on raid 0 for os and games and a 250gb for my docs and dl's and crap.

are you refering to the one in your sys specs?
