Ok, first off, my case is the apevia xplorer, and the side has a fan with funnel thing on the end on it designed for intel heatsink and fan, and the heatsink I got has a differnet design. I was able to take the funnel at the end off but there is still a plastic cylider attached that seems to be touching the top of the heatsink, is this alright?

And now for my big blunder, I messed up lining up the IO Shield, everything is fine...except the tabs that are supposed to go above the Ethernet ports go into them....is there anyway to fix this without taking the PC apart and mother board out?

The tube should be OK as long as it doesn't start to melt.

Yes, you will have to resolve the IO shield issue or you wil either dammage things by trying to bend the tabs or cause problems with Noise/static.

Is the only way to resolve the IO shield problem to take the PC apart again?

yes I did the same thing and I had no choice but to take it apart again
