Did you plug your monitor into the graphics card itself. Sounds stupid, but I did that first time i installed a graphics card.

Go into the Bios and disable the onboard graphics and enable 'detect AGP first'. (strange though as it would usually detect an AGP automatically and disable the onboard)

Can you please post your full system specification and graphics card specification.

- Ensure the card is seated correctly.
- Have you tried both VGA and DVI cables?
- Did you take static precautions with the card?
- Try the card in another system to ensure that the card still works
