The P5W is a great board but, whether or not you want a crossfire or sli mobo really depends on what video card your looking at or have, and what your upgrade plans are

either 2 ATI X1950 XTX CrossFire cards overclocked or I can get him 1 8800GTX (2 X1950's are better then 1 8800GTX and will soon make drivers for DX10)

IMHO... if you want high range DX10 wait for R600, its only like two weeks or sumthin before it comes out. Or just get X2xxx series midrange + X1950XTX (Physics)
DFI INFINITY 975X/G Supports SLI and Crossfire, but at 8x.

It has come to my attention , that Nvidia has a greater support network as opposed to ATI when it comes to software. It was only at the moment that ATI introduced 6.11 drivers that crossfire became more user friendly i struggled for quite some time up to that point all the while coming acrossed numberous help for Nvidia based boards (and I have many) bear in mind AM2 + Crossfire was freshly out, not many to choose from, also, Intel boards with the 3200 (2 PCIE16) didn't seem avalable at the time, but you could find endless SLI boards.
The moral? if you go w/ATI be paitient .I stayed with ATI ,i don't regret, the payoff was good and i believe theres more to come (I am nieve)

ATI CrossFire is the most expensive setup, If you want to go CrossFire get prepared for many hours of reboots trying to get the setup to work, I've had to buy a new PSU just to handle the two cards. In total it has cost me around $1300 AUD altogether.
