Avoid the no-name brands. How about this:

Great product, I have the exact same one myself. I think I paid 35.00 total with shipping.

Wile_E btc and Artec are OEM's they make the drives others sell, they are name brands in their own right, BTC makes a huge number of the drives for other companys, i got a creative btc, liton btc, even an hp combo btc drive(normaly hp uses phillips but this is a btc)

honestly tho that samsungs a good deal, but i think the chipset in it is sanyo or btc :P

Emprex uses BTC drives, they been around a long time, check "the firmware page" google it, its a great resorce for finding firmware updates.

emprex has been around outside the us for quite some time, in the us they are not well known but i have owned a few and installed about 40(the boss got a HUGE deal onthem, 12bucks each for 8x burners back when they normaly ran around 60 each retail)

only a few failed, but all where flashed to OEM btc firmware(by me ofcorse ;) )
