Abit IC7(-G) or the ASUS P800 series. I would go with the Abit they are a little more OC friendly and have the 975 chipset(highest for the S478)
I recommend it as it was my last MoBo before this and it still runs as my wifes Rig, Wizzard should back me up on this as well as he uses an IC7 as well

I think previous poster means intel 875 chipset.
However, it turns out that the latest 865 were just as fast as the 875. However, since the 875 was designed as the "workstation" chipset, it usually came with RAID etc.
If you want PCIe, then look for a 915 chipset for s478. ASUS, and ASROCK did them.
Anyway, why do you want to stick with s478? With YOUR hardware, I would let go of the prescott, and go with ASROCK Conroe MB. It has AGP, DDR, and lets you run a Core 2 Quad, using your expensive RAM and GPU.

You won't find a new one though. You'll have to buy it on e-bay.
Other than the abit and asus motherboards These (http://cgi.ebay.com/MSI-875P-Neo2-FIS2R-Intel-875P-Socket-478-Motherboard_W0QQitemZ220074204759QQihZ012QQcategor yZ80161QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) are supposed to be good too. You might be able to pick it up cheaper because they're less known.

Yep the Abit IC-7's were the best of the s478/875 chipsets my wifes still running my old one.Only had one real bug, the CPU temp was always higher than it really was outside of that it is a fantastic board and if you can find a IC-7G(With Gigabit NIC) your even better and as an alternative the IS-7 was one of the few 865 boards that had the 875 feature PAT unlocked on it and it also worked great(had one too)
But sadly it will be like searching for a needle in a haystack to find many of these boards new so if you want one you will have to find them used(my IC7 will be on the block soon as the Missus will get this rig and I will build a new one)
