My english teacher decided to give us an assignment that for each week for this 9 week period he wants us to interview someone who does a job that we think we would like so we can figure out what we want to do in life. As far as what this has to do with english, you guess is as good as mine. Especially when people like myself already know what we want to do.

Bottom line, I'm sure many of you here have computer related jobs. So I'll probably interview a few people from here over the next few weeks. Thus, I'd like to keep this thread alive for awhile. I only need to ask about 7 questions. I'll need your full name and phone number. I'd prefer to do it over AIM, but it can be done on here as well. My AIM screen name is the same as on here, wtf8269.

Thanks in advance to any who decide to help out.

Edit: I've found my interview for this week, but I still need seven or eight more. So if you'd like to help out I can always do these ahead of time.

This is a little confusing. In your first paragraph you say your teacher says you need to get interviewed. In your second paragraph you state that you are doing the interview!! No offense but how is this supposed to work excactly, and would an Electronics Technitian position interview help you out?

Yes that would be great. All I need to do is ask you seven questions, your full name, and a phone number (doesn't have to be your home number) where you can be reached. When I said "wants us to get an interview" I meant interview someone. I'll edit my first post.

Q: What do you do on a typical day of work?

Q: What do you like most about your job?

Q: What do you hate most about your job?

Q: Why did you choose your job?

Q: What kind of prerequisites did you need?

Q: Is the job very stressful?

Q: What would you recommend to someone that was just hired in your field?

Here are the questions if you want to PM me your answers, full name, and a phone number where you can be reached. Thanks.

No offense, but those are cr4p questions. I really suggest you try and think of some better questions that will give you a little more insight into professional life.

I think your "english teacher" is a rucksack tourist working at Berlitz. Am I right?

I work 10 to 12 hours a day + I'm a single dad w/three kids, all teenagers. Give me a break, typings knida tough when you use your hands and fingers all day as a field tech and then drive 1-3 hours home just to cook dinner for your family.:toast:

He probably did not set the questions in the first place, its probably a template his teacher gave him.

Without wanting to sound righteous but can we cut a little slack on the "spelling" in here, for many members english is not their first language, lets face it, if this was a Spanish forum I would not be a member!

I would be happy to help on the interviews if you still need to make up numbers, either Army Officer (I recently left) Or Regional Programme Manager for a National Young Persons Charity.

I would like to interview you, but I really do need a full name and phone number, it's one of the requirements given to us for the interview. I know the questions aren't that good. We were allowed to make our own questions, but we were told to keep them simple and basic.

If you would like to answer those questions I posted and PM me the answers for the Regional Program Manager that would be great. There's no rush, I already have two interviews done so I won't need it for two weeks.

Oh, and AlecStaar, if you're out there I'd love to get an interview from you too!

Why don't you try the Occupational Handbook and read up on some industry and job descriptions. You could fake the results and ACE the test. http://www.bls.gov/oco/

Because I enjoy interviewing actual people more, and I'm getting plenty of responses through the couple of forums I'm posting this on.

I'll have to do the same assignment for English class as well coming up in a few months. Sorry to say I am not looking forward to it.
