I have 2 X 512mb sticks in my pc, one is single side and the other double sided. Is it worth me buying another single sided stick to enable dual channel on my skt939 mobo? Is the performance increase worth it?

Dual channel memory offers a nice performance boost. ITs worth it in alot of aspects. However, Im not well versed on the difference in single sided memory and double sided memory. I thought single sided offered more megabytes per chip than double sided, but I Could totally be wrong.

But, to answer the most basic of the question, DUAL CHANNEL is definitely worth it.

Personally I would go for another gig, specially if ur gamer, having 2 gigs of ram, makes more sense than 1 gig in dual channel.

you should still be able to run dual channel with them sticks, have you tried using different slots, and checking the motherboard manual for what ones to use for dual channel (it worked on my asrock(uli chipset) with either 1single side one double side AND 2single side 2 double side)
