when i built my current rig i was looking for a graphics card cooler, and ended up in the reviews section here at tpu. i kept stumbling across the site and found that "X800GTO pipe unlock" article which excited me quite a lot (see specs :rockout: :rockout: :rockout: ).
i´ve been a daily visitor since these days, and the forums are also a nice place to hang around on the net...

atitool, back in the day of the 9250:p
in fact i have said card sitting next to me and it STILL pisses me off to see that a radeon 9250 has ALL solid caps and not even new cards can say that...

I found TPU from a review link at insanetek while it was still at its height of popularity. Its pretty quite over there now though.

Saw an article on another site regarding hardwares (not sure about WHAT piece of hardware exactly though anymore) that was done @ this site.
I read it, it was SOLID, so I decided to take a peek around here... then, when I got my new machine, after reading the forums here for a bit, just lurking around, not as a member? Well, it was time to learn to "O/C" an AMD product...
The guys here (and, you KNOW WHO YOU ARE, that helped me (Ketxxx, Tatty One, & a few others too))...
They took me thru SUCH a 'trial' on that once I joined up & starting asking questions on it, I was impressed by their "know-how" in that area & patience w/ my "hardware noobishness" for lack of a better term w/ current hardwares...
Fact is, that thread where they helped me thru it to LEARN it above all else, has to be one of the LONGEST & MOST COMPLETE OVERCLOCK THREADS THERE HAS BEEN on this forums... benchmark tests & all.
Hey, they got me working (AND, UNDERSTANDING) how to do it... when I did not before on AMD stuff.
It turned out to be such a great overclock (STABLE being the keyword) I have been running for nearly a year now and no hassles/breakdowns, that I decided to 'stick around' after that...
Heck, the results (nothing is as good imo) proved guys here KNEW THEIR STUFF TO ME @ LEAST, mainly hardware-side (which I have let 'atrophy' over time, it no longer being my specialty/focus in this field & has not been since the mid 90's really (I only research hardware when I go buy every 4 yrs. or so)).
Glad I did join here as a member above all else (& not just for tech know-how, but because it's full of neat/good folks imo)...
It's one of the best, IF NOT THE BEST, forum I have ever been a member of online, & I have been "knocking around" quite a few since 1997 or so online.

aah, the first time I researched to know about pc hardware and in-parts, and then upgrade my aged pc into a gamin rig. I had many confusions about the intel c2d vs x2, and gpu choices, whenver i googled got this site at the top most. this forum is undoubtedly the best of all, and also its nice members, admins, mods. Long! Live! TPU!!
