I am looking to build a new comp.. I noticed there is always a circular ring that comes with the screws (kinda looks like a magnet but it isn't). The first comp I built, I never used it, and now I'm wondering if it is important and where does it go (what is it used for)? Sorry for the noob'ish question. I tried searching for it and what it's used for, I can't find it since I don't even know the name of it. Thanks in advance.

sorta plastic/ paper-ish looking? its a spacer. Isolates your mobo from the case. I've never really used them, but they don't hurt.

These rings are made of ferrite, a semi-magnetic substance made from iron oxide (rust) alloyed with other metals.
Their purpose is to reduce electromagnetic interference and radio-frequency interference which is present in the wires that should run through them.
