I'm having problems with the front panel USB connectors on my mobo.
There are no drivers/updates on Asus's website, and the manual says nothing about the problem I'm having.
To start off, I have a usb 2.0 pci bracket that came with the mobo and the USB 2.0 ports on the front of my pc, so those alone fill the 2 headers on the board...
The problem I'm having is this:
The bracket works perfectly with my headset and flash drive in both ports on both headers, and the front panel USB works fine with my headset in both ports on both headers, but the flash drive doesnt seem to like any of the ports on either header... on one header it says unknown device, on the other it says that it "can perform faster"... which means its not running on 2.0... yet the headset runs great on the front panel, no matter what header its on.:banghead:

WTF?:wtf:

how would I fix this?

I having similar issues with other mainboards as well. Mostly related to problems with card readers for CF/SD cards. Many mainboards (Sapphire Grouper A9RX480, Asus A8R32-MVP DLX, etc) somewhat did not want to make them working...

Different types too... :banghead:

maybe the only ports you can use are the ones integrated on the board? most ports you plug into a board are usb 1.1

nah, the pci bracket they supply with the board, it runs 2.0 on the same header, but i plug in the front panel connectors and BAM, problems...

its worse!!!
now it wont even operate on 1.0... it says "device not recognized" on both headers...
but it still runs fine on both headers on the pci bracket:wtf:
havent tested the headset, but i'd imagine it still works... i was trying to fix it to run my mem stick anyway...
