I'm upgrading to Core 2 Duo E6300, and in doubt which motherboard to take, nVidia or Intel chipset?
My budget is quite limited so what's best bang for bucks?
Hehe, of course wanna OC a lot...

Are you also planning on changing video card? What card(s) do you have now?
If you have ATI, or are planning on getting a NEW SERIES ATI, then would probably want an ATI chipsset to work best with the new series cards. If not get the nVidea chipset.

965 or 975 chipset is the one for Core2, solid. Both have single or crossfrire variants. GO with Asus P5B, or Gigabyte DS3 or DQ6.

but both in 8x...which can be in trouble for new higher end cards (ie..the 8800 requires 16x lane.)

Well, have a problem cause I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so cannot order anything online.
Have to buy here, and the prices are... It's like P5B Deluxe is about $ 300.
So I'm looking for a cheaper thing, that can OC good.

Cannot understand why, but AMD prices here are much better.

So I'm also thinking about AMD X2 3600+ with this mobo
Asus M2N-E SLI, nForce 500 SLI MCP, HT2000, 4xDDRII/800MHz dual channel, 2x PCI-Ex16, 2xPCI-Ex1, 2xPCI, U/ATA133x2+SATAIIx4, RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5, Gigabit LAN, 2xIEEE1394a, 8x USB 2.0, 8 channel sound, coaxial + optical out, ATX

What do U think about this one?

True (of course if you are running DUAL 8800s), somewhere I posted the difference between using the 8x and 16x slots with an X800GTO, it was between 5%-10% loss on the 8x slot - just testing 3Dmark05.

In reviews, I read Crossfire is about 10% slower on 965 vs 975, but I think the newer 965 boards directly support CF?

What about the new ATI chipset 3200/rs600?

I thought the rs600 had two 16x slots, but according to this, it's two 8x slots:

The 3200 chipset supports AMD.
