Hellooo all,

Ive been out of the loop for a while, and Im waiting a bit longer to build a new system. I thought nVidia were bringing out nForce5 chipsets sometime soon but cant find owt on them. Are they now what the nForce 500/600 series are?

Also, Im having trouble o/c'ing my current system. When I bump up the frequency it doesnt get past post, giving me an error message saying "cpu over clock frequency", before re-booting and doing it all again. Anything I can do to make it do as its told?

Cheers in anticipation of any help guys

Yes the 500/600 chipsets are out, check the link below to NVidia's site on the 500 series:

http://www.nvidia.com/page/nforce5_amd.html

And here's some info on the 600 series:

Could you add your specs under "User CP" as that will make it much easier to give you overclocking advice and then I'll get back to you.

Ok cheers for that.

Had put my specs in but hadn't clicked to show them in profile... Silly bugger I am.

Decided not to buy a new system for a good few months but can at least start looking properly now.

If you can recommend anything for the overclocking I would appreciate it, cant really be bothered to buy an X2 but will if I have to.

Thanks once again

Joe

Just noticed someone having a "tweaked" Windows XP. Im running XP Pro, but Windows says it isnt Genuine (what a shocker).
Is there a way to get it to think its genuine, cos bloody Media Player 11 no longer works, and it may be feasible to get a Vista Upgrade when the time comes rather that the full price version.
Also, anyone with o/c advice given my original problem would get a cool pint of friendship...

This forum isn't for discussing that kind of stuff, so I don't expect you to get any help on that. The OEM version of Vista is cheaper than the upgrade anyway, so if you want the cheapest option get that (although you can only use it on one PC).
