This new Beta completely crashes the system. No BSOD just black screen and the entire system is as dead as it can be :(
I tried a couple of times, but it is a very consistent behavior.
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe
Core 2 Duo E6600
Asus EAX 1950PRO CrossFire
Ati Catalyst 7.2
I wished the logfile did contain some useful information, but it doesn't.
Is it possibe now, to Oc X1950XTX + X1900XTX in cfire mode using only this one ? ( i need actually use 2 softwares for this)..

Not working at all...
Kernel driver doesn't seem to be running blablabla...
UAC disabled, running Vista x86, Forceware 100.56 and GF 7300GT...
EDIT:
WTF, i have to disable that stupid driver signing crap for ATiTool to even work. ON EVERY SYSTEM BOOT!??!?! On x86 !? Oh man... How can i disable this shit permanently?
EDIT2:
Disable crappy UAC or use Admon rights, open Run... and type in "bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" (without quotes). Say goodbie to stupid driver signing.
EDIT3:
Again, this crap is re-enabled on new boot. Stupid to the max. Put this line into startup folder as shortcut...

@ RejZor, mine did the same thing.... reboot, uninstall, then reinstall... works now :D
@ Wizzard - the only thing that would make this better is fan speed adjustment for my 8800GTS :D

Club3d 8800 GTS 320MB under Vista 64 gives an error on the driver after a crash-restart. I now have "unsigned allowed" enabled permanently, will see if it still happens.
Furthermore a bell does ring upon artifacts, however artifact free time keeps counting and clocks are also not reduced for finding max.
(Initially went from 513/796 to 633/1002, but this is far from stable, temperature was around 95 degrees during the tests)
Would be nice if shader clock could be overclocked as Nibitor does not work under Vista 64.

Got it up to 640/810 stable. Altho my voltages are default. I didnt get that much higher than with ATi Overdrive (627/797). Using CAT 7.1 on XP 32bit SP2.
All i did was clock higher and run 3d view - didnt "find max core/mem" or "scan for artifacts". Also, enabled checkbox "use driver level overclocking"
Worked good for me :) Thanks W1zzard!

Although 0.26 works perfectly fine i thought i'd give this a go.
Installed fine, finding max gpu clock worked but ocing the mem, well only a 20mhz oc:(
When starting a 3d app or switching to an oc profile comp locks and display goes, need to reboot.
Voltage controls seem to work fine but i've noticed the vreg temp and current draw readings on the front screen are missing.
Also on the voltage controls the vddci option for r580 cores is highlighted(unlike 0.26) and gives me a read out(1.136v) even tho mines an r520.
Anyone with an x1800 series card tried this beta yet?

On Vista 32 and Radeon 1900XT 512 I get at program start:
"ATI Services not running, 2D/3D, bla bla bla..."
The services are running indeed. I monitored frequencies with Riva Tuner, the frequencies do switch when a 3D app is launched.
Besides, when trying to detect maximum frequencies, I get "the video driver has been restarted....... etc". Then the display is back to normal, the cube is gone (white square), but detection of higher frequencies continues...

I've got x1900xt. I'm using AtiTool and MotherBoardMonitor to monitor parameters of my computer.
x1900xt has three temperature sensors: GPU, PCB (environment) and Vregulators. And these three temperatures Atitool shows. But only two (GPU, PCB) can be send to MBM. Is it possible to add opportunity to send Vreg temperature to MBM via Atitool?
I'm having some issues with this version in Vista 32bit. It installs fine but when I run ATI tool my screen gets graphic corruption and then freezes and locks up, I have the tryed it with ATI services running and not running and doesn't help. There are also times it does load (ATI Tool) but does not show any clocks and a warning of a driver problem. I have installed as a administrator but that didn't help any either.
Any ideas how to make this work since its Vista compatible....
Here's the log file info, it trys to use another device and not sure what it is or how to disable it.

The Tool is ingenious. Which I however still miss, the attitude for a GPU is temperature upper limit. … 100 degrees… then the Tool a warning announces. Also when playing. :banghead:

OS: XP SP2 32-bit
VGA: x1950 Pro 256 AGP
I just downloaded ATITool 0.27 and have a question:
I checked the "driver level oc" and was able to raise the Core to 634.50 and Mem to 796.50 w/o freeze/reboot. BUT, when i Scan for Artifacts, even though it won't show any artifacts in the beginning, it beeps and says something like "Delta of 95/161 in 2 pixels" and restarts counting from scratch. After waiting for a while, I can start to see the little dots in 3D view.
My question is, how do I figure out what to sacrifice for best performance? Do I lower the Core or Memory or both at the same time to get rid of the artifacts...
Thanks

Upgraded from .26 to .27b1 left old profiles.ini in place. Rebooted as requested.
Discovered V.27 is not reading the Votage settings from profiles.ini
It is also not reading them correctly after I save them again in the profiles.ini or if I edit it by hand.
Also: as reported above vreg temp and current draw readings on the front screen are missing
By the way, those of you overclocking, I have a voltage only profile that I load first to bring the voltages up before I load the overclocks profile, and I get far fewer crashes that way.

But if he charged a small amount for a 'signed driver' version Im sure he would make his money back. There are lots of people using Vista x64 now and the nature of the beast dictates that most of them are techy people who need this software.

its b/c in crossfire you have 2 cards running and with ati tool you can only change 1 at a time then you much change the other 1 after and you also change the gfx settings at the same time wen you hit set clock you have to set everything to default in ATI catlist and then it might work. worked for me with 2 X1600XT in crossfire.ok lets say you have 2 gfx cards there both always set the same in catlist lets say you set them both to max gfx then you go into ati tool and you try and set a new clock but at the same time you're changing the one gfx card settings in catlist to default then you have 1 card at default and 1 at max gfx so set everything to default and try again :) hope this helps.

Can someone please explain what my problem is? I have been using ATITool for quite a while now. It worked with my 9700 pro, it worked with my 800pro that I modded to an 850 xt pe. And now I am trying to use it with my brand new ATI branded 1950 pro PCIE (replaced stock cooler with Zalman VF900, ram sinks, and sinks for the VRM)
When i run the beta 27 version of the app, it looks normal. However, reading here that overclocking is only supported via the driver level for my card, i go into settings and check that box. Now when I go back to the main window, the sliders are all the way at the top, the speed being read for the core and clock are both zero/zero. It still seems to be reading my fan speed and temp, but the clocks are a no show.
I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bit, with UAC turned off. I am not blaming the tool, I think I am just doing something wrong. I have Cat 7.2 installed as well, and the card is unlocked from within the CCC.
Can anyone help.

I am not using the CCC anymore, but I unlocked it at one point, and if I load it up, it is still unlocked. (don't think I can lock it againl, not that I want to)
It looks like some people are getting things to work correctly under Vista, and I didn't know if anything special had to be done. Do I need to reboot without CCC loading? It loads upon reboot.
Thanks for you response.

When I first installed I got ‘Kernel driver doesn't seem to be running etc’ but reinstalled straight away and did repair this then prompted for a reboot, and all fine since.
Both find max core and mem advance in large steps until crash no artefacts found.
Having to use driver level overclock.
But if I scan for artefacts even at stock it shows loads.

I'm having a problem with it setting my voltages properly. They're saved in the .ini file, but I have to manually set them every time I start it. It leaves them at the 2d voltages according to Voltages settings page.
Running on Vsta Home Premium 64bit ,was pain in the ass to disable the freaking digital signing thing but it works for now , however NO OC because it resets the clks right as I push apply followed by R300 not working and reseting msg, automatic 2D/3D switching works sometime then it doesn't for another but at least I have my readings on my G15 LCD pannel.

I dont understand what you are saying about default in CCC .Anyway I just installed Wizzard and setup is clocking like crazy but I noticed one thing. Bus 5 is card 2 and Bus 6 is card 1.Also it is clocking BOTH cards at the same time , I'm gonna try OC with ATT which I know for a fact only does card 1 and see if there is a difference in 06 scores to point twards it clocking both cards.I thought maybe it was just reading card 1 but the fan settings must be applied one at a time.

Just wondering is the ATi Tool's Driver signed ? I am using 27c and I have to re-install the program on a regular basis because the "driver is not installed".
I think the windows wont load un-signed drivers ???? ... humm .. unless it is the first install ??? (not sure about that but thought I read it some where).
I am using Longhorn (vista server) build 6001 64 bit.
When it does work - WHooT I can over clock my video card with out issue.
x1900GT
core 513 over clocked to 540
mem 657 over clocked to 950
I could go higher but dont want to risk being unstable when I am pushing 100% of the card.
Thanks !

@Marioace
I get this whenever ATITool and Vista crashed on finding max OC. Upon next reboot, ATITool will give this message. Just click setup file and choose repair. Rebooot should not be necessary.
As I already stated, Nvidia cards do nt have the artifacts detected with this build. Since I do not see any input from W1zzard, I would like to know if this is a known issue, when it can be slved and if users with Nvidia cards like myself can be of any assistance?
Is anyone getting really bad display corruption when starting ati tool??? I'm using a X1800XT 512 and with stock clocks my screen isn't even readable when starting AtiTool.

Even though I have the voltage settings saved in the profile, it doesn't use them for some reason, I have to set it manually. Don't let ATITool automatically load a profile when you start it. Adjust the voltage first, then load a profile.

I did actually try that, but its alittle deeper sorry to say.....I think he's got driver issues with this version. Cause as soon as the screen gets the lines in it instant BSOD, I tryed beta 25 14 I think and it worked great it was using the 1.24 driver and the vista 27 beta 1 is using the 1.30 driver, but with the 25 beta 14 I had no 3d setting for aa af and a few other bugs.....hopefully he gets everything worked out with the Vista version cause I miss using ATITool!!!!

I tried this beta with my Vista Ultimate and GeForce 7900gs without success.
I don't get any error messages (as I run it as administrator) but after changing clocks and clicking on Set Clock button, my GPU clocks are returning to their default values.
The same thing is happening if I trying overclock with nTune... I really curious what is going on...
Mad366, did you upgrade your graphics drivers?
I have 101.41 and everything works with no problem on Vista Ultimate and my 7800GTX.
You better uninstall nTune. It just create a mess on my PC.
Few things about ATITool 0.27:
GPU temperature is showing correct most of the times but sometimes jump to -185°C or something like that.
There's no settings for the fan speed. Should be? I'm new with ATI Tools.
Under "Driver tweaks" there's all empty for me.
I using 3D detection.
Default clocks on desktop and Overclock when 3D application is detected.
When 3D application is closed I must set "Clocks before 3D app lunch" and everything go back with no problems.
But if I try to load Default Profile, all colors on my desktop become messed up and sometimes graphics driver is shut down and new instance of driver is loaded.
I can load every profile I was created with no problem, but Default profile. There's something wrong every time I tried to load Default profile. This could be driver problem.
Everything else works just great.

If you set link sliders, then it does work - at least for me it does.
However neither under Vista x86, x64 or XP does ATITool detect artifacts on a GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB with Forceware 100.65, 101.41 beta or 97.92 for XP. Yellow distortion is shown, but it keeps counting as artifactfree.

Yes, I have newest 101.41 drivers and I also tried with linked sliders options, without success. Still after clicking Set Clock button clocks are reverted to default values.
I don't think that uninstalling nTune will help, but I'll try. Thanks for info.

Hello,
I have X1950pro FZ of gecube, I think that the software must badly take the can voltages to confirm it to you.
I put the bios to you origin of the gecube.

-The vgpu of origin it is 1.4v, and the vmem 1.8V

Im testing beta 1 and it runs fine except with Silent Hunter IV: Wolves of the Pacific. This recently released game and ATITool 0.27b1 results in a VPU recovery. Isn't that odd? I've tested various configurations with the X1000 panel to see if it changed things. So far no luck, VPU recovery error every time SH4 is run together with latest atitool beta.

Any way to run this thing normally with Admin rights without dumb ass UAC kickin in at startup (if i use Compatibility mode->Run as admin). It's just friggin annoying. And it appears to be the only way to run ATiTool. This is far from out of the box for me and i'm using Vista x86...
Hello, I have access to the tension, but the adjustments a priori are not applied in the bios. I have test the tension of the vpu and vmen after appliquage is result always vpu 1.4v and vmenm 1.8v. I think that you do not have access has these modifications of made that you do not have the same chip as me (you LM63 and me a fintek)

not possible on x1950 pro and x1900 gt rev. 2. someone decided to save $0.04 by using a cheaper chip which doesnt have the required circuitry
W1zzard,
For is it possible to modify the vgpu and vmen? I have access has these parameters, but a priori impossible of the modifer for the moment.

When I am using ATITools on my notebook (ATI x1600 mobility) - Win Vista 32bit business - It is showing a clock speed from about 500 to 2000. Initiall clockspeed is about 1500. This appears incorrect so I stopped using it.
What might be the cause?
no voltage regulator temp. on powercolor x1800gto (0.26 has it)

I solved my problem (see my previous posts). Ohh man, how I was stupid :banghead: ...
I forget to connect additional power to my gfx card. That's funny, but after I connected this power cable, I'am able to overclock my card without any problems.
Strange, but it seems that nVidia cards don't alert if you didn't connect additional power cable to it.
My previous ATI card, alerted me with nice info message before POST.

W1zzard, you're the man. I purposely waited to get the X1950pro because I was waiting on ATitool support. Thanks so much for all your hard work. I can't wait to get my card in and setup with ATItool.
it seems that nVidia cards don't alert if you didn't connect additional power cable to it.
They don't alert you because additional cable is not must to plug in.
Nvidia cards have 3 working modes: 2D, 3D low and 3D perf.
You need additional power cable only for 3D perf. mode.
Without power cable will only work on 3D low mode.
2D mode is for desktop, but in Vista there's always in 3D mode if you use Aero color scheme.
You only need to overclock 3D perf. mode.
2D and 3D low mode is best to leave on default.

Hi,
Finally I've Vista.
I can run ATITool v0.27 beta1 as administrator. But, everytime I start Vista, it block ATITool.
Any how to always allow it?

I learned a trick that works well for me as far as OC-ing my x1950 Pro in Vista using .27 b1! Like I already said this trick works very well for me, and results may vary. I was unable to get ATI Tool to OC my card past 614/749 during either 3d cube or artifact scan without that known: R300 Driver Stopped responding and has been successfully reset! That message would also mean the reset to stock timings for my card. As I know people have had luck OC-ing theirs, I wasn't going to give up. I tried many bioses, versions of ATI Tool, the two crappy catalyst releases (7.1/7.2) and not much luck.
If I used CCC OD, it'd get my card up to 621/796...but then..that famous flickering screen deal. So fine, I now know where I need to go.
I used ATI Tool to manually set my OC to 621/750...ran Aquamark, 3dMark 05/06...nice and stable. Gamed for a while...no issues what-so-ever! I was very happy!
So I am now at 621/770 and it's running great. But as soon as I open the 3d cube screen that damn R300 error pops up and I'm back to re-loading my speeds.
W1Z, I don't know if others are having this issue, but it's worth a shot for Vista owners to try if they have the Driver R300 probelm while OC-ing as I do. Cause there's a difference between 614/749 and 621/770 (770 is about as high as I've gone so far...remember CCC OD put my memory up to 796!) that can be felt on these cards, and I'm just excited I've found a way over yet another obstacle in my OC adventures! Keep up the awesome work W1Z as I love ATI Tool, I've used it for a very long time now. Now if ya can get Systool to play nicer in vista, I'd be content!
So if any of you happen to have an x1950 series in Vista trying to use .27 b1...give this a shot and see if you can get any more speed out of your card. If you push too far the R300 driver resets it anyways so what do you have to lose?

I was looking around in my event viewer (i'm running vista 32 ultimate) and every time i boot i get this error:
Service control manager even log provider. event 7026. The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: Atitool
I had tried Atitool about a month ago and uninstalled it so there must be some remnant around that is causing this. I can't see any trace of it in my list of services.
I reinstalled it (the latest beta) and uninstalled it but the same error show up.
Any ideas on how to clear this up?

This is such an awesome tool it's a shame that dynamic fan control based on core temperature is not possible with NVidia cards... It was such a great feature on my X800XL but now that I'm running a 7900GT (I still run ATITool to view the card's temperature) I miss the dynamic fan control a lot.

CCC is "Catalist Control Center" and is part of Catalist drivers.
I believe (I'm on Nvidia) is possible to overclock your card directly from CCC.

Yes, did that and the .24 version will at least load.
The .27b immediately went to black screen, and even though driver signing was disable, and affirmed, and .27c validated that the vista 64 driver had been installed, with versionc I get that the kernal mode driver does n ot seem to be running.... repeatedly.
I have a bat file with the disable command running, so it is one of the first things to run upon boot.
Seems to bea hit or mis if it runs.

I had an ideia so you can use powerplay and auto overclock on a laptop. The problem is that when you are on battery and using powerplay to reduce consuption and you start some 3d app / game ati tool overclocks the card say from 100mhz(powerplay on) to 400mhz and that crashes the laptop. the idea is to add a litle option to disable overclock only when on battery! then we could use auto overclock and powerplay! is this possible ?

Running on Vista home premium, C2D e6400 @ 2.25, X1650XT
0.27b runs fine all the time after the initial install (requires repair install).
Have to set driver level overclock (is this the norm for X1000 cards?).
Problem is that with ATITool running and Kodak easyshare running I keep getting 'mapfile1 : access denied kodak tries to access dialer, I then get it when I open recycle bin, open my compute etc.
If i disable ATItool then no error message.
The error appears as a IE 7 error message (has IE7 icon on task bar)
Any ideas.

maybe this has been mentioned before but, I am running Atitool .27 b1, AMD x2 4000 brisbane, Sapphire radeon X1950 gt. I am having zero problems overclocking, but I was wondering why I can't see any fan control or temperature monitor in Atitool. I know that my card supports both because I used another utility to just clock my core and mem to the stock frequencies. With that util. I couldn't overclock mem just core.
Any suggestions?

Have ATi 1950.
Have used to following two commands to disable driver signing:
Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
Used DDisable line for the first week, and ATI could only occasionally load up, maybe 30-40%
Just found the "nointegrity checks" line, and seems not to load on cold boot up, but better after warm boot. Just started using it last night, too early to tell %.
I'm not using both commands in the .bat file.
Also, in Settings, Startup, have entered "When loading profile on windows startup" have tried 30 and 60 seconds. ATITool still loads up instantly, and right about the exact same time as my .bat file to dissable integrity checks runs, so maybe that also causes some difficulty in ATITool to load its drivers.
Any suggestion for a moderate to moderatye-high OC level for this card (ATI 1950 CF)?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Update 4-2-07**************
Having a dickens of a time with disabling driver signing by use of the .bat file and the commands:
Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
Its about a 20-30% chance on a warm boot I'll get the driver signing to work.
A cold boot never.
Now if I use the F8 key and select Disable driver signing as the boot option, it will always disable the driver signing.
So there must be a way to get the driver signing disabled consistently, without having to use F8 for the bootup?
Can someone please help?

I'm using the following commands in a .bat file to disable driver signing:
bcdedit -set loadoptions \”DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECK”
bcdedit -set loadoptions \DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS”
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON
Didn't have much success until I uninstalled my ATI drivers (7.3), and then reinstalled them, leaving the ATITool in place. I haven't tested which command seems the successful one. Will likely do that soon.
It seems now that on a cold boot, the driver signing is sometimes disabled correctly (50%), well at least for the last two days, and when that happens the ATITool is working correctly ....
great !
Thanks for the engineering of this tool.
update:
Have found yet another method to disable driver signing:
run gpedit at command prompt:
which brings up the Group Policy Object Editor
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Driver Installation
and enable the "Code signing for drivers" and then choose "Ignore". It sure helped me install my Nforce audio drivers
This seems to work, and no need for a .bat file.

Thanks for the new vista compatible version of ATITool!
Because of the multiple delays of R600 I switched to a G80 card so my question is if it's possible to implement Fanspeed adjustment for the 8800 series? There's no other GPUtool around offering Vista compatibility with all these nice features. (Ntune is not worth mentioning and Rivatuner having no Vista compatibility)

To those who had the same problem than me, which even having driver singing off, atitool worked like 50% times [even after trying all methods it was still bad], and u needed to restart like 3-4 times each boot if u wanted it to run nice, u can save a lot of time doing this.
Go to device manager (my pc properties...), then look for a "Device" called AtiTool Utility, press +, and then right button on AtiTool driver, then go Controller and Disable and Enable[1st disable and then enable], open ati tool, and if it works, done, if not, close atitool Disable and Enable again and open it again, do that till it works [4 me it usually works at 3rd or 4th try], a fast way that doesnt make u restart ur pc 4 times or more in order to get atitool working every boot

Quick question, my new system on vista with 2x 8800 gtx in sli, it says that there is 768 dedicated to video and 768 shared system memory in the control panel. IS this supposed to be? I seem to think that it should read double the dedicated video memory no shared.
Any help welcomed!

However when I try to use the "Find Max Mem" function

I am running the latest beta (0.27) on Vista Ultimate (32bit) and it works fine.
The only issue is that with my crossfire setup it only will load a profile for one card and I have to manually set up the other card each time I run it.
I know it's a free utility and takes a lot of time an effort to support.
Thus, I think we should all pitch in and send W1z to some tropical island for a month with a laptop so he isn't bothered by those pesky day to day interruptions ;)

with 101.70 drivers when you try to change any clocks, it just immediately switches back to default values.
Does this also occur after checking "link sliders together" as for me it also occured, but not after this action?

I keep hearing people using .27 beta with Vista 32 and no big issues, what am I doing wrong here, lol. I can't even get it to start without locking up my PC and getting a BSOD.......
I am probably not the best person to make such a blanket statement as "it works fine", as I only use it for fan control, and I do not have it launch automatically. I wait a few minutes for the whole system to settle down after starting and then launch it form the start menu.
Once it is up and running, and I reset it for crossfire, it seems stable. I also have Cat 7.3 running and neither complains about anything.
Would be nice to be able to view both cards at once, though.

well that was the only way I even got the clock levels to read correctly. If driver level oc isn't on the clock speeds are crazy and inaccurate (around 1300 each when they should be around 450)

I've had little success with overclocking my 8800gts 640 mb on my mainstream mobo (ECS RC410-M). Im running Vista 32 bit.
I overclock my core from 513 to 600, and my mem 792 to 900... it works for a little while. I'll play R6V & STALKER with improved frame rates, but then out of nowhere my screen goes black. If my OS manages to recover, I get a messege saying "Driver Stopped Responding and have Successfuly Recovered". Some times it wont recover at all, and I have to restart.
Anyone else have these symptoms?

Jon & Shane127,
What drivers (and versions) are you using? Maybe that has something to do with it?
Just guessing.
I've tryed 7.2 and 7.3's and same issue, as for atitool's version I've tryed the .26 and the .27 beta 1
Same issues with any of those setups.

Doesn't help, with 101.70 at least, and 8800gtx and vista 32, when you chnage the overclock valuse even by 1, they just revert back to default as sson as you hit apply or test or whatever. I haven't tried the new 158 or 165 yet, but I assume they don't work either. Expertool has the same issue with these by the way.

Fan control seems to be rather odd with my Connect3D x800GTO.
I can change the settings fine, but when I quit ATITool they don't revert to the default card settings. The fan will sit at 100%, for example, until I go back into ATITool and select something else. Similarly, if I clear the "override fan settings" box, the fan stays at the last override setting.
I haven't actually used 0.26, so am not sure whether this is a beta-specific bug.

I came over just to say, "Thank you, W1zzard, you rock!"
If it wasn't for ATi Tool I would have jack and crap for overclocking in Vista x64. As is, if I disable driver check and right click the AT desktop icon and select "run as admin" it works fine. I have a 8800GTX and I set my 2d core clock to 300 for when I am just surfing and the card is idle. That nets me around a 6C reduction in idle temps.
Since I am installing a HR03 Plus I won't have to worry about driver fan control soon.
Again, thank you. Your work is appreciated.
On a side note, as far as Vista drivers go, both 158 and 165 give me HDR + AA in "Oblivion". With 165 I get "flashing white boxes" around ghosts in the game and with 158 I do not. So I am sticking with 158.
These new drivers also tripled my FPS when running the "rthdribl demo" full screen. It's fairly obvious from that test that proper HDR + AA support was missing from previous drivers. Glad they got off their arse and fixed it.
Anyone know when the next version might be out?? As .27 Beta 1 does not work what so ever with my system no matter what I try, and I would really like to use AtiTool instead of CCC or other options.

2nd: Try this;
Disable Enforced Driver Signing In Vista x64 - the 64-bit version of Vista is quite strict on unsigned drivers and tries to force you to use the bootmenu whenever you want to load an unsigned driver. However, you can get passed this permenantly by launching a "Run..." box, typing "cmd" without the quotes and then entering bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS and hitting enter
or reboot your rig and hit 'f8' to go into 'safe mode' at bottom of list 'disable driver signing' and windows will start ATI tool as 'administrator' all should be good ...F
if ati tool doesnt work for you try expertool.. works for me.. windows xp 32 bit 8800 gts 320 mb 680i sli evga mobo pentium dual core e6400 conroe. altough it is sketchy too..sometimes it likes to default the 2d overclocking so you have to reset it on load.. but if you reset it again and save it again it may lock in.. locked in for me finally. i just messed with saving it after doing things using different steps and eventually it locked in.. it has fan contro though so thats a very big bonus..lol.. but i preferr ati-tool to be honest.. seems more reliable to me.. I had to go to exper because i couldnt control my fan in ati.. maybe in 27 i can use the fan.. thanks for all the hard work though Wiz..

I'm possibly being an idiot here, so bear with me.
I'm using Vista x64 and am getting the usual "Kernel driver not loaded" errors when I start ATITool. As others have pointed out the solution for this is to do that "bceedit" thing, which I have done. When I do this it works ok - but I regularly forget to do it for the next reboot (you can't set .BAT files as "Run as administrator" automatically, you can only right-click "Run as admin")
However, you can get ATITool working even after seeing the "Kernel driver not loaded" simply by restarting the ATITool service.
Is this not something ATITool could do itself, especially as we're already running it as administrator anyway? It could just detect if the kernel driver was loaded and if not prompt the user (or dont prompt) to restart the service?

I have never had an device manager entries for atitool. In any case it seems the issue I have is one of Non signed nvidia drivers not allowing atitool or any app change clocks, no matter what workarounds I try, and I have tried all the suggested ones in several forums. Try going into settings, look for 'X1000' not sure exact wording, and set to 'use driver level overclock'.
I think that should do it.

First, HI and thanks for your so good job.
I use ATITools on many PCs with ATI cards, that s perfect on XP (with 9600, 1950Pro) but i ve got some bugs with de fan control on Vista 32 with a MSI 1950XTX.
I ve installed the .27b (with some problems but i could manage them), i set my config and everything is ok (i set the fan control on 'Try to keep my card to 50°C' or 55°C).
I let ATITools doing its job, but sometimes fan control seems bugging, fan speed % showing 50% or more but the fan doesnt go faster and the temp always warmer?
I ve tried a fixed % or a dynamic setting, always the same result, after few reboot i lost the fan control capability.
I ve disabled the vista user right option, and nothing gets better.
I ve try many install/uninstall, it s working only for a short time.
Any idea???

However neither under Vista x86, x64 or XP does ATITool detect artifacts on a GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB with Forceware 100.65, 101.41 beta or 97.92 for XP. Yellow distortion is shown, but it keeps counting as artifactfree.
Same/similar problem here.
Vista 32-bit, GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB (550 core/792 mem), ForceWare 158.18.
"max core" and "max mem" allow huge overclocking without reporting artifact errors: core=634, mem=1014. Yet, odd yellow blocks visble on 3d render window.
I ve made further investigations to solve my problem. It still control fan randomly, but i ve got a possible explanation. It seems that some program cant use register data, Vista seems shut down connexion with register db after few seconds.
I ve seen that after install and before reboot everything is ok and fan control is working fine. I suppose that after reboot, ATITools use register data to run, but if Vista dont allow register access everytime, perhaps it causes the fan control malfunction....
I continue my research but still need help.
Thank in advance.

For the .26 release notes it says:
"Full support for all ATI and NVIDIA cards."
Until I can use ATiTool to dynamically adjust fan speed by temperature on NVidia cards like I could on an X800XL or other ATi cards, I cannot consider it "full support".
With an 8800 series card, will I have that ability? That is very important to me and will impact which card I buy to replace my 7900GT. I must be able to dynamically adjust the fan speed by temperature.
Thanks.
