my cousin bought a webcam and we installed all of the software that came with the cam and it says that the hardware cant be found. the cam is plugged in. the webcam is micro innovations model IC50c. i went to the add hardware to add it and it still can find the hardware

If it's USB, did windows find a new device when you plugged it in? Also if USB - plug directly into the PC (not a hub) - some devices simply won't work with a USB hub - although it's rare.

i dont think so i did plug it directly but when i plug it i can hear a sound

Did windows say new hardware found, or just make a sound? The other thing is to check if the cam needs external power? Yea, the obvious things first.

i just makes a sound i external power? i plugged it in the back of the tower
