Hi. I am building my first computer and so far I have been having problem after problem. My current problem is my graphics card. I had an ATI Radeon X1300 Pro but it was busted. So i got a ATI visiontek Radeon X1300. This one seems to work. I have it plugged into the PCI x16 spot and the fan spins and all, but I can't seem to get anything to show up on my monitor. I have tried to ask tech support and they keep telling me to go into BIOS, but i dont know how im supposed to if i cant see anything. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you.

I had the same thing happen on my brand new 8800GTS. I just cleared the cmos (it's a jumper, check your manual) and then reset the computer several times and suddenly it started working. I would recommend checking if the card is seated correctly. Just giggle it a little bit and see if it goes in any further.

Ok I tried that. Still get nothing. Is there a chance that if I hooked up something wrong it would contribute to this? or is that now a possibility.

Do you know for sure that the monitor works?

Nope. The monitor should switch on automatically. Can you try the card in that computer? If you have windows installed, do you hear it booting up on the computer with no image?

If you can get it replaced try and get the xt variant, or better still see if you can get the x1600/ x1650 xt as they are better :D

Those cards should run in a pci-e x8 slot anyway. You could also go for the board in my sig or a DFI Infinity RS482 as both had onboard gfx which would just about play games with pixel shader 3! They both have pci-e x16 and rock hard, the DFI even allows 2 monitors to run off the onboard ati gx chip while using yr discrete gfx card to run 2 more :D
