Well, it may be a little too soon to be making threads of ATI's newest chip housing nVidia's, but I might as well get an early start. The "leaked" R600 chip specifications (http://www.nforcershq.com/article3260.html) are amazing. And according to various sources (http://level505.com/2006/12/30/the-full-ati-r600-test/), the R600 line is to pull ahead of the 8800s. The only downfall to all this awesomeness is that the expected card price range is ~$600. Yeah, so you rich bastards can get the card, and the rest of us will have to save up to share in the glory, which is precisely what I plan on doing. Play the waiting game, let all the driver and card bugs worked out, let the price drop a bit, then attack! and go buy it off newegg.

the latest numbers say the R600 is only really capable of about 200 more points in 3dmark06, but the drivers are still very new, as they mature the performance will go up

on top of that nvidia has the 8800ultra planned, and the G81 in the works for release in the very near future

hmmm, i doubt it only gets 200 marks more, probly like 5000 or 10 000 more maybe... the 8800 is not even in the same league as the R600, just look at it's specs ...

there you go.

i suggest you do some research before you start saying i am the one spouting "lies and bullcrap"

the specs you posted are complete crap, and nothing more, and your 5,000 to 10,000 points more claim is just as full of crap

DON'T tell me to stop, cartmen is going all over the forums and flaming every ati thread with lies and bullcrap...

care to back that up?

there are plenty of ati threads out there that i haven't even posted in, and i haven't posted a single lie or anything that could be considered "bullcrap", unless you can manage to show some proof that anything i have posted is "bullcrap" i suggest you stop making the claims

I'm more than happy to extend that week-long-ban invitation to you, Eric.

In fact, I should lock this thread, so that arguments such as the one you almost started don't happen.

Next time you fight about something involving video card performance Eric....you will be temp-banned. I've had enough of all this arguing.
