Hi all Vista users
Can you give us XP users a feedback about the frames rates achieved compared to XP?
Is true that is a 10-20% decreasing compared to XP ?
I'll like to try Vista but because i game a lot i have doubts.
Any help appreciated!

with 1gb of ram you will see decreases of 20%/10%
that's the reason i don't go to vista

i had my framerate in cs:s drop like .08 fps maybe it's because of the hyprememory and everything got put into the system memory.

My gaming experience when I first went over to Vista was horrible, low fps wasn't the word for it, then I dumped my Nvidia card and bought a ATI x1950xt which is performing brilliant in battlefield 2 my fps is mostly above 90 but sometimes can hit 70 for a couple of seconds every now and then.
I play at 1280 x 1024 with all settings maxed out and x4 aa so if you have an ATI card your games should run pretty well with the 7.3 drivers.

i have had vista since its release in january and i can honestly say that with two gigs of ram all of my games run as good or better than they did with xp
a of my games: BF2, BF2142, CS:S, HL2, C&C 3, Guild wars, i could go on
A list of my comp specs is listed to the left

I've had Vista since the beginning of Feb...and my games run pretty close to what they were in XP. Since 7.2 cats (and now 7.3) it's been better..7.1cats were horrible...hell half my games would crash or not even look right. I am currently playing Supreme CMDR and C&C 3, Guild wars etc...all play great..at least 1280x1024 with all goodies turned on..see specs...

RAM is cheap but my ram right now is so shit, only 4.4k RAM bandwidth
Yes thats the fact, i can go for a new 2x1GB kit for only $200AUD, before it costed $350.
Someone do some reaserch and tell me if the silicon-power brand is good.
Source games don't like vista

Reverted back to XP due to serious stability issues with the ATI drivers and very annoying conflicts with ATI Tool.
Most annoying and more relevant to this thread is BF2 which would periodically hang and then recover, or just simply crash the PC all together 30 minutes into a game!
More recent games such as Oblivion would run perfect cranked up to the max (sorry no FPS) which was reasuring but since I built up this new system specifically for BF2 I'm kinda pissed!
Will re-install in 6 months or so when the hardware manufacturers can be bothered to catch up.

Which drivers was you using? I had issues with 7.2's but 7.3's are flawless for me, saying that I went through a day or two of bf2 crashing to desktop once in a while but that seems to have stopped now to.
