problem with sony viao

HI guys,
I have a sony viao vgc-rb52 model
I recently stopped working. That means I power it up i hear the fan spinning, cdrom trays open but nothing shows on the screen. No beeps, no sounds. Bios doesn't show nothing

Anybody know what might be the problem, could it be the motherboard is dead. I want to get more information before i go and buy a new motherboard

you cant buy motherboards for laptops. Contact sony and ask them to replace.

This is not a laptop it is a desktop, can you tell me some of the things i can check to be absolutely sure its the motherboard? that will help me a great deal before i decide thanks

Is the PC speaker connected, like in the past have you heard beeps?

If so, take out all the hardware and turn on the computer. You should hear some beeps. If it doesnt beep at all (and it used to beep), its the mobo.

Otherwise, if it does beep, put each piece of hardware in one by one, till you have found the culprit.

Is your graphics integrated on the motherboard or do you have a separate graphics card?
