Ok, well i have seen that a gig won't do it for a gamer these days no more..at least a gig of corsair cas/2.5, and in dual channel(2X512's)
My mother board is an Asus A8N5X 939 Board
I was looking to get some better ram..and maybe a 2x1 gig..so i can go to 2 gigs..and have faster ram..
could somebody please help me find some good deals?
Thanks

Yes, you want DDR, not DDR2

To be honest I'm not a RAM expert, however you want to get atleast PC3200. I'm currently running Corsair Value RAM, but it's a very mixed bag, my dad has the same stuff but can't overclock for shit, wheras I can get to DDR475 with mine at 3-3-3-8. I've been recommended to get stuff by OCZ, Mushkin, Cellshock and a few others I can't think of right now.

After looking at Newegg..these seem to be cheap, and quality ram? And by looking at the timings, they should be good for gaming?

Please tell me your opinions..and if you can give me some more suggestions on ram..but here is what i have so far.

Go for the A-DATA, it has much tighter timings, which will help when gaming. Chances are, at stock speeds, with just a minor up to the voltage, you could push the timings tighter.

Higher timings? I thought it was the higher the better?

A-Data's Timings=2.5-3-3-6

Patriots Timings=3-4-4-8

but i don't know much about ram, so i could be wrong.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

No, you want your timings to be as tight (low) as possible. So A-Data has the better timings, and it's cheaper.

If you have the money, they guaranteed to run at 500Mhz at 3-4-4-8 if your motherboard can handle it.
