It's time to upgrade my second rig (AKA my wife's computer). It was a nice Epox 754/A64 3000+ setup. I'm looking for a good, still available and economical board that will still help me OC my old A64 4000+ Sandy. The rest of the setup includes a WD 250GB SATA HD, Geforce 7300GT (I know, I know, but it's my wifes computer), Ultra X-finity 500w psu, all in a I-star Nitro full tower. I'm not looking to spend more than $90-100 since it's mostly going to be used for office apps and kids games. However, I want the Mobo to have the capability if I get bored and want to OC it. Opinions?

asus boards tend to be wonderful for overclocking. dfi also makes some nice stuff, idk about their amd boards tho.

Yeah, my main rig is a LP Ultra-D, and I've had some recent issues with ASUS boards. Other suggestions? Also, anyone with experience with the Abit AN8 32X? I've found this board still available with some good reviews.

I have an ASUS, and have used nothing but ASUS boards for all my builds and have never had a problem with them. I'm sure Newegg has some 939 ASUS boards for dirt cheap..

Buy foxconn, i had them few on 939 and they were great. Only thing that was bad for oc-ing is low DDR voltage, up to 2.85V but asus is giving even lower voltage.

i agree the asrock is such a good board for the price, u really cant go wrong, agp and pci ex, sata2 port plus 2 sata1s. likes most ram out there! only bad point is the v-core is 1.4 max without a mod, but thats easy! but 1.4 could still get u a good stable overclock!
im dont work for asrock i jst had that board and it surved me well:)

I'm really hoping to stick with the Nforce4 chipset. I've had nightmare issues with prior Via and SiS builds. I really appreciate the advice, but please reserve advice to boards with the Nforce4 chipset.

it might not be that cheap anymore. cheapest i found it for was 150$+, (the 80$ VC version at newegg is not worth it, as it doesn't oc as well). i got mine for 45$ open box, but i would recommend it up to ~75$ or so, otherwise get a different board. sorry!
