The core has a bad pixel pipe. Flash it back to 12 pipe and it should clean up.

hey how do i flash it back? i did try to flash it back once, but somehow there's still trace from the xt pe bios (the black spots still showing up). is there anyway to clean up the previous bios and flash back the x800 pro bios?

Unless you used W1zzards modified version of Flashrom 2.37 or ATIflash V.3.07 with the -newbios
switch you would have still had 16 pipes enabled even after flashing back to the original bios.

D/L the modified Flashrom here - www.techpowerup.com/articles/100/images/flashrom16p.zip - and
then reflash the original bios with it to get back to 12 pipes. You will have to probably have to
use the -f switch to get around "Bios Already Programmed" message when flashing the same bios
a second time.

Try the card in another computer with another monitor just to rule out some obscure system
issue. If it still does it and I believe it will RMA the card.

Hard to say on what has went south. A defective pixel pipe will cause what you are seeing but ordinarily would go away when you go back to 12 pipes so who knows.

You need to use the modified flashrom and the -f switch in the command line when flashing the
Null Bios - DO NOT REBOOT after flashing the null BIOS!!! Immediately after flashing the null bios
flash the card again with the Pro VIVO bios using the modified flashrom and the -f switch.

I doubt it will cure your issue but ya never know either.

i tried to flashed back the original bios using modified flashrom, but it still showing the same problem. When i got the card for the first time i didnt try to play games or any 3d applications, instead i Flashed it to xt PE. During the process Flashing XT PE i went through some trouble. such as: The 4 pipelines Showed not active on Ati tool even after i flashed it with Ati Xt Pe bios. I almost gave up, because i did several attempt and all ended up failling. Oneday i read a guru3d forum and i heard some ppl there open the 4 pipes by using gigabyte bios and utility. I used it and it activated all the 16 pipelines. I played some CS: Source, halflife2 and run some tests on 3dmark03, all working smoothly. then i started playing doom3 and running some tests on 3dmark05. that time was the first time i saw Blackspots and squares poping up all over my screen. Now i stuck with some ppl called a defective cards. Did everything i could to restore to the original condition, but nothing seems work. I dont know if the stock bios does that or not, but somehow i believe this card working fine before i flashed it to xt pe and activate all the 16 pipes. Can anyone tell me the safe way / the right way to Flash this card to XT Pe without having to end up like my card now? If i could RMA this card, i want to try to softmod my new card again. Thank you for the help yall i really appriciated it.
