To anyone with experience of these motherboards.

I set up the following system today...

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3
G.Skill 2GB DDR2 PK PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU
Scythe Infinity Heatpipe CPU Cooler

Certain programs (3DMark 03,05, and CoreTemp so far) are causing BSODs or system reboots. Some apps seem to run fine (3DMark 01 CS1.6, FEAR, Oblivion and the system is fine when browsing).

This is all at stock, with temps at 40 - 45 load. I have read various forums about the low default memory voltage and have tried upping the vdim to +0.2, this didnt help. The board came with the f10 BIOS so I haven't changed that, but I did get the latest chipset/audio/LAN drivers from the Gigabyte website.

Before I mess about with the DDR2 sticks (one at a time, different slots etc) I was wondering if there is anything I may have overlooked trying?? I have a feeling it's RAM or MOBO related as some programs work fine.

Cheers in advance.

hmm... I have the same Gigabyte 965P-DS3 as you which has a Core 2 duo E4300 running at 3.4Ghz. At this speed, i'm really surprised that DS3 handle the OC really well. Anyway, just a thought, did you insert both your RAMs in diferrent colour coded slots? DS3's RAM slots have 2 colour right? Yellow and orange. If you decided to place one of the RAM in yellow, the other also have to be in the yellow slot too. This have something to do with Flex Memory Technology.

If you had alredy done it, and the problem still occurs, don't hesitate to post more of your system's information eg. VCore voltage, PCI-E voltages and other stuff so we could look into your problem together. Thank you.

P/S: Did you overclock your system?

Thanks for the reply. Video card drivers were responsible for the crashes in 3D mark 03 and 05. Coretemp I have no idea, but I can live without it. Everything else seems stable now and I have ran Orthos overnight at 3ghz, so I guess my problem is solved.

Cheers anyway.
