Just curious if anyone has had video issues with Halo. I have a high end system (see specs) and play BF2, BF2142, Doom3, etc. without any issues. I haven't played Halo in awhile and decided to play a little again, for something different. I have the latest drivers and keep everything else updated regularly. I’ve tried changing the video settings (in Halo) to about every combo I can think of. I went in to my video card settings and set the AA to application controlled, needless to say nothing works:confused: Sometimes everything goes OK and then it will start acting up, basically video tear. I’m starting to think maybe my system is just too much PC for this older game:D

NVIDIA + Halo = :(.
Perhaps try disabling SLI, AA, and enabling VSYNC in the game. That oughta eliminate your tearing.

Halo for PC was an extremely bad port. It looks like you've done just about everything you can do. Just keep playing with the settings and see if you can find something that works.

I thought about disabling SLI, etc., but then I thought why have SLI:wtf: I still may give it a try to see if that's the problem. If nothing else it won't be the end of the world, I still have my other PC (BFG6800Ultra AGP, AMD 4000+, ASUS 939mb) that I can play it on. This was my first gamming rig and has performed well with Halo as well as other games. This makes me wonder, could it be SLI causing the problem:twitch:

Hmm, thats odd, it runs great on my system, but I am using ATI.... Try disabling SLI, and see if you can find a Vsnych for it.

enable vsync and triple buffering that should stop any tearing

I went in last night and disabled SLI in the control panel (only for Halo) and what do you know, all of my problems went away.:rockout: By the way, I went back into the Halo settings and set everything else back up on high settings, still no issues. I guess Halo just simply won't accept SLI configurations. Even running Halo without the SLI it still has good graphics. Thanks for all of the responses and suggestions. :toast:
