I have tried to open the other four pipelines on my card using the catalyst drivers, however my hole machine slows down and I had to roll back the driver. What was I doing wrong? Also when using the ATI Tool are the memory and core in a ratio? I am very new to this, I have looked around but I am still lost, please help.
Thanks in advance :)

well if you dl Softmodded Catalyst Package & Softmodded Display Driver from here (http://www.techpowerup.com/softmod/downloads.php) & it's not working ... than you probably cannot open the other 4 pipes ...
have the same problem :rolleyes: (well, i got 8 pipes, but it's not working OK - i only got ~12k on 3dMark2001!!! :mad: ) (with 4 pipes i got only 500 less :confused: )

DAMN, Thanks for the reply - so no soft modding for me :( . OK what about OCing it using ATI Tool? I have left the machine on for hours trying to find the max mem and it doesnt show much movement up. What am I doing wrong? What is a better program to use?

yea, memory SUCKS! ... have the same problem; i can OC core to ~400, but than i have to get my memory to 288 (from 290) ... so it's baaad ram :mad: ... but anyways; it will do just fine for the next year ;)

THat 3d01 increase is to be expected. 3d01 isnt all that GPU oriented, so that increase seems about right. a better test to compare the effectiveness of the softmod would be to run 3d03 before and after ;)

yea, i know that for good score in 2001 you must also have a gut processor ... AMD does it better (i have P4 :p )
well for 3dMark2003 i get 'round +25% more (3300 -> 4100 points)

from 4 pipes to 8 & only +25%?
well it does not matter anyways - pipes aren't good; i get some artifacts, so i'm playing with only 4 pipes - it's good for now ;)

Yeah its not like doubling the pipes will double the performance. its not linear like that.
