Interesting, first time that I've seen that review. It actually looks very promising. :)

I love the Accellero X2 on my x1950pro, it's very quiet and keeps my OC'd card at 36 idle, 52 load, at 100% the fan is quiet. Zalman is a great brand also, and the vf900 is a great cooler. AC X2 vs Zal vf900 is still an ongoing debate in many forums.

Hey man, I have 2 X1800gto's and I swear by the Zalman VF900... keeps the gpu under 50 and cools all the other components on the board too, you can even fit some heatsinks on the power regs... You can buy them OEM to for like 30 bucks...

Waspman3, if you are after a vcard upgrade from your 9600 I would go for one of the AGP X850 series.. you can get em second hand for around $100. If you don't mind spending some cash you could go for the X1950pro agp card which is pretty much the fastest agp card there is, and ever will be. If you would like nvidia I believe you could get a 7600gt AGP for around 100 also, or if you want a higher end card I believe you can buy the 7900gs in AGP also which are around the 250 ( correct me if I am wrong ).. Any of those cards will be a massive increase from the 9600 you currently have...
Good luck with it mate

Just read that review on the new TMG
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Thermaltake/TMG_AT2
I must say I am very unimpressed by it... I mean no speed control and 51Dba..... haa.
The zalman is way cooler than that and cools just as good, if not better.... I wouldn't buy one of those fatality branded ones though... they suck... the VF900 is the way to go..

AC > TMG AT2. Thermaltake's cooler has too much material not used properly, not being very efficient overall. I cant hear my accelero lol...

X1050 wtf? Why would you want that crap...(with ATi, numbers don't mean much)
I am perfectly happy with my mid range X850. (see specs)
Runs Battlefield 2 Maxed Out 1280x1024 4X Anti Aliasing. I think this kind of card would do you fine.

What I have a is this:
ATI Radeon 9600SE 128MB DDR w/ DVi/TV-Out 8x AGP Video Card - Retail - 100-437009
Code: SN-VC-ATI9010
$119.00
Im wanting to move up to the next level as I play alot of sports games and right now currently mowing some people down in the game WAR ROCK!!I have a 3gyg processer and 2 gyg ram.Im trying to figure what else I can move up to without breaking the ole pocket book.Ive had good success with the Radeon series cards. Is that x850 you got pretty good then?Would it be better than what Ive got? It would be a LOT better :p
But you might want to replace the stock cooler with an Arctic Silencer 5 Revision 2, as the stock cooler was crap, and sounded like a jet engine.
If you can, stretch to something like an X1950Pro, but I'm sure for your needs an X850 would be pretty good.
(EDIT: You're planning on staying AGP 8X right?)

Stay away from the lower numbered x1xx cards, an x1050 is like a 9200se, x1600 is comparable to a 9600, and so fourth. X850 was the top end of the x8xx, x7x, x6x series. So either go with an x850 series or an x1950 series. And don't go to Best Buy to purchase a vid card, they don't carry anything special, and you can get way cheaper prices online incl. shipping...so if you can wait a little more, you can get a lot better for the same money.
