They used the 8800 in the newest ones....but at E32006 it was X1900XT in CF

From the way they have been talking they are making the game in a way that slower machines will be able to play.

just like ET:QW...from the pictures, you thought you need some state-of-the-art machine, but devs said if you can play quake4, you can play this game just fine. :rockout:

:respect: ID & Splashdamage :toast:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the current speculated specs which can be found in the Information Center on this site. The listed information below is fact, however the requirements are estimations based off those facts as well as the other information posted in this thread.

Crysis will run on both DX9 & DX10 as well as Windows XP and Windows Vista.
A graphics card that supports Shader Model 2 or higher is required.
CryEngine2 is estimated to scale back 2 years, and scale ahead 1.5 years.
A single 7800GTX will run the game quite well on fairly high settings according to Crysis Art Director, Michael Khaimzon.
Jack Mamais of Crytek said in an exclusive Crysis-Online interview that his X1900XT runs the game very well at reasonably high settings ( still unoptmized ).
Crysis will dynamically utilize all processing threads available. Meaning quad-core processors will be supported.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Minimum Requirements

CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6200 or ATI X1300 - Shader Model 2.0
RAM: 768MB on Windows XP or 1GB on Windows Vista
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7600 or ATI X1600 Pro (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB+
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am once again fielding questions about the crysis system requirements. Not much information was available when the previous system requirements thread was made, therefore most of the information contained in that thread is not accurate. The previous thread was more to give people an idea of how there system stacked up against others.

If you want a rough estimation on how your rig will handle Crysis, please post your specs below. However, please read through some of the other responses before posting as you should get a rough idea of how your system stacks up against the rest.

The below information is based off the confirmed information listed above. Please do not think that these are official responses.

8600GTS? :D
What I've heard is that DX10 architecture is much faster than DX9 because of the unified shader model.

8600GTS maybe is slower than 7900GTX in DX9c (3DMark06), but it will eat the 7900GTX for dessert in DX10 mode.

well thats cause 7900GTX cant play Dx10 unless your talking about IF it could but ye ai hope my 8800GTX can play it Dx10 max but thats it the rest of my system can but it should onc ei upgrade and that will be when intel price drop
