make it look cool =)
systray feature is a must, especially for temperature monitor. Also, a good log file would be nice.
also, make the "temperature 1, 2, 3" tags editable, like I can change "temp 1" to "CPU" or something like that.

Support to report the stepping, clockspeed and type of CPU currently in your system.
Support to report the memory timings, dual/single channel mode, and clockspeed of your memory.
As wazzledoozle mentioned allow it to control your fans, and enable 64bit users to change their cool and quiet profiles.
Hard disk deframention (if it is and how much so), and if possible a disk defragmentor program?

Hmmm, how about a plug-in to "desktop sidebar" or similar? Or at least a way to create plug-ins for it.
For example, right now I use AtiTool to get the GPU temp and send it to MBM. I then use Desktop Sidebar to get the sensor readings from MBM and display then in the DS Performance bar. Best way to keep tabs on my temps during heavy gameplay.
I think MBM is not supported anymore, so your new tool will be greatly appreciated! :)

How about output plugin's? Have various modules output their data to a nice display.
We're talking about displays like http://www.crystalfontz.com

rather than wrinting a driver to drive the LCD, why not write a plugin for a well established LCD driver like LCDsmartie.

Wizzard, Great software by the way :) . Is there by any chance to add a voltage chart also. The kind of chart to which speedfan uses but with 1-10sec interval readings. Now that would be nice :D Also the 865P/875P Tweaker is also a nice tool. It works on most boards even on dell. :D. Also an automatic sensing for sensors just like speedfan. Some of us just beat ourselves with a stick trying to configure mbm5 :D
Is there any chance we can get an alpha version by next week :D Ah! j/k bro take your time and best of luck for making this app very flexible for everyone's taste.
Thx,

if you know how to use. YES ;)
fav tools for dfi nf4 clockgen + a64tweaker ;)
Put an option to set automatic divider. For ex an option to put max mem speed, and it will auto use a divider to keep it at or under that mem speed at all times. Also put in an option to be able to use and save presets for the amd64 mem timings, so people can easily use good timings for their specific type of ram, so that in the future there will be like "bh utt presets","ch utt presets" and "tccd presets." Also try to get in touch with the makers of occt and incorporate their algorithms into your cpu tester. I find that their test is very fast and accurate, eliminating my need to use prime 95 for 24 hours.

I'll post pics of my PLL number off of my dell 8300 this weekendAs I understand it all Dell MB PLL's either do not have a SMB (System Management Bus) connection or the FSB can not be set via SMB. You can monitor them w/o problems though (I have an 8300 w/the same MB).
Post a wishlist here of features you want to be added to SysTool This looks like a great project for you and a natural extension of ATITool. I'd be honored to either alpha or beta test it for you!
BTW, have you checked out Wolfram Podien's "CPUCool (http://www.cpufsb.de/CPUCOOL.HTM)"? What you're working on sounds a lot like what he's doing and you might be able to share some information w/him, he's seems to be a decent person.

I have an Intel mobo with an ICS "locked" PLL, and I was able to OC it by using CPUFSB and changing the model number in it (from 952601 to 952607). Some ppl have reported having the same PLL in DELL PCs and OCing them by using the same trick.
Wizzard, can you add a feature that lets you know the AGP/PCI divider and the bus clock for both of them in real time? Would be really valuable 'cause, in my case I can OC my proc by more than 400 Mhz, but I have no idea of what clocks my AGP/PCI buses run at, hope you can add this option ;)
Good luck :)

Add a checkbox to easily disable the left windows key. In case you don't know, here's the RegKey:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,5b, e0,00,00,00,00

Also, why don't you add something of an "overclocking info" window that basically sums up all frequencies (CPU, Graphics, Memory) and latencies, features etc. to have everything close at hand.

Something like the CPU name string and the current speed, and ofcourse a nifty calculation on the difference in percentages. Such info on memory and GPU as well.
That way when your computer seems unstable you know whats OCed and how far right away. Always good when troubleshooting.

Wizzard, is it possible to get the AAM-option as an standalone tool? My PC (i875-Chip) doesn´t support any of the feauters like monitoring or overclocking. And modifing memory timings for going faster lock´s my system directly and needs a hard reboot. :-(

Yes, I´ve seen and have tried this and it seem to work. But my Dell freezes at 3013 Mhz (Default is 2993 Mhz). Maybee my RAM is locking (and I have to make a hard reboot with disconnecting powercord). I´ll try to downclock the cycle-times from ram and see, if overclocking works better.

-Integrate the artifact scanner from atitool.
-Move ati overclocking and NV overclocking to 'graphic card overclocking' showing only the detected video card type screen.
-blank out unsupported options such as AMD cool&quiet on P4 and other systems (ps i clicked on read in this tab just to see what would happen and my pc rebooted, so I count myself lucky it didn't do any harm)
Other wise keep up the good work
DanTheBanjoman

integrating the scanner would make atitool obsolete, systool+atitool would be one tool again even befoe systool goes beta.
Gzero
05-04-2005, 09:30 AM
Then solution could be to keep them separate ( for now) and clone aittool to NVtool, therefore compensating for the fact there are not that many good tools out there for oc'ing nv cards, I found ati tool was was the godlike oc'ing tool for ati cards so I was hoping w1zzard and crew could carry over that success to Nv cards...
I am not saying that he should make a tool for every type of card just for the popular ones.
The only problems I see is SLI might screw up somethings but thats just my hypothesis.

good detail on memory....CAS-....all the way to tCMD
CPU..Multiplyer, voltage, etc...the basics...mabey a burn in or stress test type program?
Video card...drivers...temp...mabey a "safe" and "dangerous" temp info on the card.
Bandwith Monitor would be cool....show you your actual speed in both Bits and Bytes...
Processes running (and the ability to kill them)...mabye a graph that shows up how many resources its using...
A couple of general windows tweaks...
Mabey a page with all the IRQ's and stuff (or atleast the ones that are conflicting)...
!!!!...The ability to change the "OEM FILL HERE" on the DMI and all that junk..that would be nice..
Thats all i can think of off the top of my head...

Great tool I think! I'm using ATITool on my Intel Centrino notebook w/ RM9600 and it works perfect. But I'm going to change my Centrino machine (i855gm) to Centrino 2 one (i915gm) w/ nVIDIA PCI-E GFGO6200 card so I would like to see the full support for the notebook systems (i855gm, i915gm, i945gm, Centrino, Centrino+, Centrino 2 Sonoma and future). It would be also great to have test for nVIDIA card in SysTool like in ATITool so that when you overclock your card you can test it for artifacts using some Direct3D accelerated rotating 3D model, like in ATITool so that not to turn on the games and see the result right in the application (or maybe it's an idea to make nVIDIATool :) I want one VERY MUCH really  ).
And maybe add some profiles in tray icon to change the speed of Pentium M cpu (like some SpeedSwitch XP, or Centrino Hardware Control), I mean, press right button and choose Max Battery, Battery Optimized, Max Performance, Dynamic Switch profiles to control the CPU and last the battery for longer (just so one great app - SysTool could control all the PC platforms including Notebooks and all of its hardware - would be JUST GREAT.)

Would be good to have a dashboard like mbm so that u can view the most important voltages and temperatures easier. And fan control.
I like djbbenn idea about cpuz type page as well and i understand cpuz already does this well already but then a64 tweaker and clockgen do good enough jobs already but its much nicer to have them all together in your software.
Also would be good to be able to hide things that dont relate to your hardware to keep it neater.

What i'd like to see, is a better / more thorough cpu overclock stress test. For instance, when using the "find max" option, my system will always freeze before finding an error, making the feature useless for me. It doesn't matter how many Pi digits i select.
Maybe putting in a stress test like Prime95 would be better for this, since it would more likely error out before going too high and freezing the system.

I was bored, so I was testing the RAM timings on my computer and I first went Read for the mem timings, and then I click Write, without changing any settings, I then clicked Read again, and the timings had changed, from 2-3-3-6 to 2-4-4-6.
Full specs of machine:
Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Rev2 (i875 chipset with latest BIOS)
Prescott 3.0 @ Stock
512mb (single stick) Hynix D43 (PC3200)
nVidiot FX5900XT
WinXP Pro SP2
Stock timings for the RAM is 3-4-4-8 @ PC3200 (i know, VERY bad) but it is completely stable @ 2-3-3-6 with ~2.7v
I have also tried changing the timings, from the my stock (2-3-3-6) to 3-4-4-8, and it went to 2-4-4-6. Out of frustration, I repeatedly click on Write, and that isnt exactly the best thing to do... Blue screen, and for some reason even though I have it set to NOT restart on BSOD's it did. So I think it would probably be a good idea to give a 1 - 2 second cool down on the Write button.

Neo 2 support has just been added and it mostly works ok. The cpu vcore is wrong though. Before neo 2 was added i used the W83627THF Generic monitor and it gave the correct voltage readings confimed by checking it against msi corecenter.
so use W83627THF Generic for neo 2 until the vcore reading is fixed imo :D

Some nice things:
1a) export hardware data to some form of shared memory (like mbm or rivatuner) so everybody can read it. This way you would not have to do things like osds and dashboards - users could write standalone apps and you could concentrate on the more important stuff... :)
1b) implement an option to export hardware data (at least temps/volst/fans) in the SAME format as mbm5 does it - this way you get mbm dashboard and osd for free - these tools that come with mbm are just dummy shared memory readers. There have been a lot of posts requesting plugins for LCDs - do it this way and all of the problems are solved - 90% of LCD can display mbm data :)
We could use samurize with it to get a cool looking GUI ...
When I get some sort of OSD I'll uninstall mbm5 and start using systool - until then - keep up the great work ...
EDIT:
and please, add a way to disable that mass of icons in the tray. You could add a simple bubble popup as the default doubleclick action...
and if you want to implement that osd yourself (dont like the shared memory idea) check this out:

Atm when systool shows all the temps in one big line in the taskbar is just annoying cause i have like 7 temps :D

can you people suggest how you want the visual output of the sensors? the more detailed the more easy for me .. i tend to get caught in building way too complex stuff .. please give me some ideas .. drawings will help

So you're not for the shared memory idea... No problem.. I have a new idea...
1) Do NOT implement complex visual output yourself - simple bubble tooltip popup with all the hardware monitoring info is all we need. This way the size of the executable can be kept small...
This does not mean that one can not have beautifull GUI display, which brings me to:
2) Write a simple Samurize plugin that could enable showing the hardware monitoring data from systool
Check out http://www.samurize.com/modules/news/
Some of nice looking skins:
http://www.samurize.com/modules/myalbum/
And you get all of that for less then 3MB of memory (when the display is inactive) + 2BM systool = 5MB -> not to much (and the user does not have to use the plugin is he does not want fancy GUI)...
The samurize is not a copeting product to systool (it can show hardware monitoring data only if it detects speedfan or mbm5 in the background, however it can show a lot of simple things from windows by it self)...
There is a C++ plugin sample that comes with samurize - check it out...
If you run into some problems you can contact me...

i'm building the "add tray icon" interface right now ..
what would you like to customize?
font, font color, background?
given the space, does it make sense to add sensors other than temperature?
djbbenn
07-22-2005, 07:11 PM
Ya, be able to change font size and colours, and maybe even backgrounds. For the tray, be able to hold your mouse pointer over a icon and a popup will come up with a readout of temps and voltages, instead of having them taking space up in the tray.

You have one icon in it, instead of having all of the temps there. You know how theres all the temp readouts if you have it selected? Well just have one icon and when you put the pointer over it, a menu or popup, will come up and show all the readouts.

Check out "System Tray Balloon Tips and Freeing Resources Quickly in .NET" by Paul DiLascia - it is in MSDN library that comes with VS .NET 2003 (or find it on the microsoft web)...
From the article:
"There are two kinds of tips associated with tray icons: an ordinary old-style tooltip that appears when the user moves the mouse over your tray icon and the newfangled balloon tip that appears when directed by your program."
The ballon popup is just what we need. The article shows the easy way to implement it. It is prettier then the regular popup but requires an action to activate - simple click/doubleclick on the tray icon should do the trick...

I use a nice little program called I9kfanGui based on I8KFanGUI (http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html). It has readings in mouseover. I don't know if the source is available but I think it's GNU based.

Shell_NotifyIcon and the NOTIFYICONDATA enable you to set the tooltip - NOTIFYICONDATA has a member szTip -> Pointer to a null-terminated string with the text for a standard ToolTip... Or maybe I am wrong...

How about a feature that tell you your highest and lower votage value. Cause when I was looking at my voltages on my PSU, it was hard to tell what value I was getting from the graph. Like its easy to see what your current/normal voltage is cause it tells you and its a easy to see line on the graph, but when it drops you can't tell waht it droped too. Maybe have a little thing in the corner of the graph that just says highest and lowest values =.

an integrated ATI tool would be nice. and you know how the ATI tool finds max memory and cores by increasing the frequency slowly and running the 3D image at the same time? well why not do that increasing frequency slowly with the FSB and maybe even a Core CPU clock overclocker! Maybe even also do it for the RAM, PCI Bus Frequency, PCI-E Bus frequency, PCI-E X16 frequency maybe even AGP frequency. and you know how the ATI tool has the graph with the Core GPU temperatures? why not do that not just for the GPU but the CPU as well (if it has a sensor of course), a fan control tool as well for the GPU fan like in ATItool but also for the CPU fan. also maybe a little thing with tips on how to be able to achieve higher stable frequency's, by adding, changing fans, heatsinks etc. and an automatic detection for which clock gen you should use. an automatic detection of your CPU and it's specs like intel does with some of their processors with their identifying tool. And you know all the features in the Intel Desktop Control Center (see an interactive flash thing for it here at http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/software/dcc/) those would be good in it except remove the lid they put on the FSB adjustment (+/- 30% (800mhz+30%=1040mhz)) play around with the tool because it's pretty neat.

Hello,
Surely already asked or already in the to-do list but...
- Abillity to change speed fan when possible by the motherboard (like speedfan)
- Make the event tab working (or there is a probleme on my computers, but i can't use them)
- change the fsb and multiple for the CPU (already possible manually) but in fonction of the temps (if events where working, i could be possible by there) - to replace "rightmark cpuclock" like software
- make a "start with windows" button ;) - even if it's simple to create a shortcut with "start minimised" option and to place it in the startup folder
- Make it skinnable (can contribute for skin :) )
- CPU-Z like fonctions (cpu speed, details etc..)
- monitoring : ability to see more than one at a time (like cpu temp + chipset temp etc in a only one monitor)
- Find max fsb working with dual-core or multi-cpu (like the benchmark module, where multi-thread is possible)
If this fonctions can appear, we will be able to throw cpu-z, speedfan, motherboard monitor, rightmark cpu clock etc.. All the cool things will be in one software (and so many are already in :) )
Thanks a lot for the samurize plugin, amazing.
Actually, i love systool for all the already implemented fonctions, and i wanted to give a big thank you to the person or the crew who made it. Keep going, already ultra cool, will be amazing !

i came here to say that, and when you do the stress test, i think it would be nice to tell you how many times youve gone through...just trying to get this thing to run as hot as it can.
another idea i just came up with was while finding max something...would it be possible to choose how many times you want to test it before it bumps the clock speed up. since sometimes you can pass the first and second time around, but an error comes up the third time.

i second that.
also. systool doesnt seem to like half multipliers at all. when i run a half multiplier, it rounds down and doesn't display anything right. in the cpu overclocking section.
support for the 233 MHz DRAM divider (7/6)? it doesn't display the memory frequency right if i run the 233 Mhz dram ratio...shows it as being 1:1 when its not. also cpu overclocking section.
thanks for the fix in build 642...using systool all the time once again.

you're doing that, while keeping your HT link multiplier at 5x?! you cant change that in systool. i use nvidia's ntune...thats the only program i know of that allows you to change your HT Link/LDT multiplier. but it would certainly be awesome if you could change it through systool...hint hint...

Is is possable to add the motherboard TUL Ax480A7-F? Its a ATI RX480 north and a ULI 1573 south with PLL ICS 951416. Its a very nice S754 PCI-E full ATX board with no FSB or multi in the BIOS. They have all the voltage settings in the BIOS for CPU up to 1.8V, mem to 2.9V, and chipset to 1.5V but very strange not to have FSB and multi options.

First of all: Hey everyone, new here, never posted.. bla hehe
Now my bug report / feature request (please move my post, if it's wrong in here !):
Because I've got a watercooled system and I don't have much air coolers at all, the
"Fan Output - Monitoring"
is most often completely useless for me, BUT: It says I had 50,4% Fan Output on all fans all the time :wtf: .
Maybe noone has the same problem as me (and it doesn't annoy me too much), but there could be a way to fix it so I wanted to do a report ;).
Thx for listening, out.

I'm using systool along with the samurize plugin to report cpu / gpu temp, fans speed, etc..
It's the only tool, I know who is able to report both system monitoring and ati/nvidia temp.
it's actually runing great with admin rights on my computer, but i don't really like having that kind of program running with all privileges (don't say i'm paranoid :) )
So, should be great if we could at least use the monitoring part without those admin rights.

It would be cool if systool and atitool is integrated such that when a 3D application is detected, a profile for both the fsb clock and vga clocks can be loaded. It will also be nice if systool can load certain profiles when it detects certain programs are loaded. That way we can optimize electric efficiency and save on our electric bills and also allow our hardware to last longer. Fan speed adjustment like speedfan will be great too.
Anyways, this is a great program just like atitool! I love them!

When playing with the HDD Acoustic Management, I find I get better throughput numbers when setting it to "Minimum noise", though my seek numbers take a slight hit. Is it possible to make a "profile" test that will run the benchmarking many times each at a different Acoustic Management level? Also, how should I weight the seek performance and throughput numbers when deciding on the optimum settings?
Thanks!

Hi, i'm Victor from Argentina! (Sorry my bad english)
I'm overclocking my CPU with the extraordinary Systool, but i like very much if two more things are added to this utility: One; if you please put a test pattern sizes of 64k, 128k, and 256k for select in CPU OVERCLOCKING tab. This is to perform automatic tune using the + 2 mhz fsb per second method (because more than +2 fsb per second cause the system crash).
Two; if you please add a STOP WHEN FSB LIMIT IS REACHED select option. This mean when the fsb clocks up to the limit previous marked in the FSB LIMIT BOX, then stop finding and stay with the current clock.
My system: Msi Neo3 F nForce 4-4x and sempron 64 2500+ (1406 Ghz @ 2536 Ghz. 362 fsb ok)
Bye and thank you for all. :D
There is a bug in NF4 overclocking in Systool where it doesn't give proper ram speed with the multiplier used. It would be nice to have a good calculation on that for any multiplier and any LDT and ram speed ratios. I bet it's a comlex formula thoe.

Definitely need to implement Prime95 small FFT's. Nothing finds pure CPU errors faster than that. Often I'll be able to pass a 32M SuperPI but fail a small FFT within minutes.
Actually, I just finished a 32M superPi successfully, and right afterward I opened up Prime and did a small FFT torture test. It ran less than 10 seconds before it found an error.
What I've found to be the most effective way of finding the max OC on my Amd64's has been to lower the HT multiplier to 3 or 4, and the ram divider so that neither the mobo or ram can affect the stability. Then I use ClockGen to bump up the FSB 20mhz at a time until I can't pass a 1M SuperPi. Then I start to slow the fsb back down until I can pass a 32m superpi. After I pass a 32m pi I proceed to run small FFT's and slow the fsb down in small increments until I can run at least 24 hours of small FFT's without error.
This is all assuming that I just set the vcore to the highest level I'm comfortable with at the beginning so I don't have to keep rebooting into bios to bump up/down the vcore. After I find my speed that the cpu will do 24 hour of small fft's I repeat the FFT testing while backing off the vcore until I reach the minimum vcore required for a 24 hour fft run.
this is really badly written, sorry, but I think just adding in Prime95 type testing and expanding the built-in scripting of the program would allow people like myself who already have well established routines to automate our routines in the program.

I have noticed lately in the monitoring window that if you adjust the graph windows to a different range than default, they do not stay that way. Say for instance you adjust the 12v graph from it default range of 15.20v - 9.70v to 12.68v - 11.4v. If you move out of that window or pick a different sesnor, then go back to the 12v sensor it has moved back to the default 15.20v - 9.70v. It would be nice to have these stay, or perhaps be able to set them in the properties box for that sensor.

Hello,
Surely already asked or already in the to-do list but...
All the cool things will be in one software (and so many are already in :) )
Picking this one up, I'd like to second some of the requests and add some new ones:
1) SpeedFan-like abilities would be nice. I do use an external fan controler, but it would be nice, nontheless..
2) RM CPU Clock Utility-like and NHC-like functions would be VERY welcome: on-demand FID, VID and ODCM changes, as well as advanced CPU settings... It would be like a dream come true
3) Dynamic FSB settings (along with FID, VID and ODCM changes; and, since we're at it, if possible, even NB and SB voltages) to underclock (say, a 200MHz-FSB C2D on idle) and overclock the CPU on the fly, based on load and/or software loaded... 2) would be like a dream come true, this would be heaven on earth...
4) Keep the "KISS" approach, and PLEASE don't EVER make it skinnable: is is nice, yes, but the eyecandy makes the software a CPU and memory hog (and you don't want THAT on this kind of utility...); or at least make the "skinnability" an optional module...
5) Include a nice and clean "on event" module, which can be easilly configured (SpeedFan, anyone?)
6) Make the software x64-friendly: I have several very unpleasant "glitches" (read: "bugs") with my copy, running on Windows XP x64...
If all of the above can be achieved, SysTool will become THE best utility EVER to manage the CPU... Please tell me it is all possible... Pretty please, with sugar on top? :P
Keep it up.
Cheers.

on my asrock 939dual sata2 the overclocking section tells me i have duoble fsb and clockspeed
eg 400fsb 4400mhz on an 11x multi, 400fsb 3600mhz on a 9x multi

Auto Start w/Windows ability would be cool.
Another ability is using registry execution durning start up to disable C1E so you don't necessarily have to start the program to have it disabled! that would be way cool!

Is it just me, or even the "non-OC friendly" mobos have the ability to disable C1E at the BIOS? I have both an Asus P5B-Deluxe and an ASRock 775i945GZ mobos and both have the ability to disable C1E from the BIOS. I believe this is true to the vast majority of the mobos...
Unless, of course, you want full C1E support except at some times during the OS execution. That would require something different, and the registry execution is welcome. You can, however, add it manually either to the registry startup or the "Startup" Start Menu sub-folder. Separate service and GUI would be much more interesting, one could have systool running without even being logged on (very interesting for some people, for me it would, at least).
Cheers.

Hi
I have a new Dell XPS-410 with P965 MB that also has same IDT cv174cpag.
It would be nice to get support for this chip, I tried CLOCKGEN and it only listed the cv107 IDT but it did find my chipset as PPL control page along with setup are there.
Soft OC just might work with supported IDT cv174.
anyway, nice forum here, just found it ;-)

Hello,
I guess a lot of us have motherboards with the (new) IDT CV174 PLL.
Mine is an Intel DQ965GF motherboard with that same clock generator, :-).
I hope support will come soon for this PLL, thanks!

Hi Wizzard,
I love tweaking my rig with your ATITool and SysTool:rockout: . It appears that SysTool doesn't recognise my Abit-KN9 Ultra. It uses the nVidia MCP55 Ultra chipset.
Do have any plans to support this in an upcoming release? :)
If not can you recommend other tools that work with the KN9s?
Thanks,
Steve

Will there be support for HP Kayak XM600 / ASUS P3C-D motherboard in near future ?
Very needed, thanks in advance.

Hello everyone!
I've found a sofware that supports the IDT CV174C PLL. I don't know if I can post it here so until then, I won't be able to tell you.

Hi
There is "SetFSB" for DQ965GF Ultra Version 1.5a1
This software is a beta version.
Supported Intel DQ965GF IntelQ965(ICH8DO) IDT CV174C
This didn't work on my Dell P965, started with error, so i think chipset issue.
Looks like it may help Insect111 though as looks to match his system.
Edit: Ah i see you posted to yourself :-)
Ed
Hello Ed,
Is "SetFSB" the name of the software Ed? I'm referring to another software, hehehe! I will give you a link to the software I'm referring to once I get confirmation that it's ok to "announce" this beta release. I'm using it on my system now. I don't have the latest hardware and I don't want to fry my CPU so I just overclocked it a little bit. (stock speed is 3400MHz, overclocked to 4110MHz) I guess you know what processor I'm referring to based on the stock speed, :-).

I'm always interested in trying new software with this kind of software (still looking for one with everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to over and underclocking and voltage control lol), so if you can PM me about that other software, please do so, ok?
Cheers.

Hello everyone,
I'm referring to a beta version of ClockGen from cpuid.com. ClockGen "is a program dedicated to overclocking. Its main purpose is to change the system clocks on the fly : FSB (Front Side Bus) and GSB (Graphic Side Bus). ClockGen also provides some functions that allow you to improve and monitor your overclock."
This version has not yet been officially released (and supported) by cpuid.com because development for ClockGen has been temporarily suspended.
Many thanks to Franck Delattre of www.cpuid.com for providing support for the IDT CV174C PLL. As usual, damage from overclocking your system is no one's fault but yours. So, try at your own risk, :-).
I was able to change the clock speed of my Pentium D 945. I'm planning to do the same on my Core 2 Duo, :-).
If you need support, you can try http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php.
These are the links to ClockGen and CPU-Z for this particular version of ClockGen:
http://www.cpuid.com/beta/ClockGen.zip
http://www.cpuid.com/beta/cpuz.zip
Please remember that support for the above softwares are still limited if not available, :) .

Thanks for posting that! This worked perfectly on my DG965RYCK Intel Board and D930!
So far with stock voltage and air cooling I am able to reach a stable OC of ~3.6ghz.
:rockout:
I'm burning it in right now with Prime95 and CPUStab.
I have attached a screen shot for those interested. Well I did... oh well.
Cheers!

Hello Zip,
I don't see any screenshot of your system, :-), I'm interested. I ran two instances of Prime95 and did not experience any error, hehehe!

Thanx for posting newer version.
I tried it on my system (Dell XPS 410-P965-6400), and it did change FSB and stick, probelm though I blue sceened a little while after and was only small increase as test (not even 100MHZ).
I have question, when you used it what did stats show for PCI and PCI-express at default/stock speeds or did you only use the "ignore PCI" option.
with that unclicked it shows right MHZ and FSB speeds but PCI=50mhz and PCI-e =100MHZ, dors yours show that too ?
seems to high to me, might just be this Dell MB not getting fully reconized right and they maybe lock it up to tight to do anything.

Hello Ed,
I think we're already off topic. This is supposed to be a Features Request thread for SysTool and not for ClockGen, I'm very sorry for starting this whole thing...
I have the same clocks as your PCI and PCI-E. I don't even have a speed for my RAM. As I've said, this version is still experimental.

I recently noticed this fourm and see you found a way to overclock the IDT cv174 PLL on my DG965WH board (full name IDT CV174CPAG). I was in the middle of building a high end system with this board when I realized i couldnt overclock with it at all. Stupid me. After alot of research I think this beta of clockgen may be the only way. Can someone verify that this application can overclock the DG965WH board with a core 2 duo before i continue on building. I dont want to get this thing up and running and find it doesnt oc.
Also If anyone out there finds a way to oc via the bios please let us know.
